:eek: I wounder who will replace Skip an all of them... Perhaps move Travis and Jenny to mornings? or plug in someone from somewhere else? or bring someone in an keep it live and local.....
 
Why not give him middays at the Bone? Seriously. Isn't there an audience overlap between country and classic rock? John Boy and Billy do both. I'm serious. That would be a powerful line-up. Of course I still wouldn't listen, but sounds great anyway. (If I was joking, I'd say PM drive on The Dove)

At first, I thought -- "Hmmm, something tells me he's not going to physically "leave" San Diego to take the gig" -- then I realized KYGO is still run by Lincoln...

I do remember back when Skip bolted CBS and had to wait out a six-month non-compete before starting with Clear Channel... While it's sad hearing about Skip's ouster at CC, I have a feeling that a similar fate would not have been out of the question had he stuck with CBS...
 
I feel bad for the CC people that were just barely making a living and still got cut.
Sort of unrelated, how many on-air - local people Clear Channel radio has in Tampa,
versus Cox radio versus CBS radio. ???
 
What's interesting in all this is we used to rip Cox years ago for running jukebox stations and bad programming decisions yet here they are in 2009 as one of the better off media groups. Never thought I'd say it but that's probably the better cluster to be with right now. ...And that doesn't just go for Tampa Bay either. Overall, Cox is looking good in the other markets of Orlando and Atlanta.
 
Cox gets no bad press for firing people because they have so few to fire. However, if Catfish Hunter is taking over AM drive on 103.5, does that mean Charles O. Finley is GM and the line-up might go like this:

5:30 Am-10AM Catfish Hunter
10-3 Joe Rudi
3-7-------------Rollie Fingers and friends
7-12------------Dennis Eckersley
12-6------------Blue Moon Odom

I don't think those guys played for the A's. Sorry. We must be consistant! ;D Rollie late nights is genious. That would be a rating winner at least 20 some times.
