Another Bengal gets a DUI. Has WLW stopped announcing the Checkpoint locations?

I listened quite a bit yesterday and never heard them mention the location of the Beechmont Avenue checkpoint. They always seemed to have announced them in the past.

Is this a change of policy at WLW?

We need all the Bengals we can keep. I always thought the announcements helped.
 
In a related story, the Bengals radio network today announced that John Walsh is joining the broadcast team, effective immediately, as a sideline reporter.

"With John's reputation for tracking down fugitives, we feel confident that he will bring his expertise to tracking down players for keen insights into the games strategy, the teams playoff potential, and the city's penal code," said Darryl Parks in a prepared statement.

Bengals management were spotted frantically scurrying from Nancy Grace and could not be reached for comment.

They still mention them, as do other media outlets. By law the government must make it known where they will set up checkpoints, otherwise its unconstitutional and the charges will be thrown out. If Clermont county did not notify media outlets and in effect the public of the checkpoint, then the charges will not stick, as long as Deltha has a good attorney.

Yes. Thats an interesting development. I know I have heard of what I thought were all of the previous checkpoints, usually starting the afternoon before they set them up.

I listened to WLW on and off that afternoon and can't recall hearing any mentioned; I know I heard quite a few of the newscasts during that time frame.

As I understand it, there has been no change in policy at WLW regarding the announcements, though that doesn't rule out that the State Patrol hasn't changed their policy of making the (what I also thought were required) notifications to the media.

I wonder if this has been discussed at all on the sports stations?

I would find it hard to believe that WLW knowingly didn't mention this while some other radio stations or news media had.

After snooping around some, I did find a blurb about it in the Enquirer web page, posted at 6:48 am Friday (or last updated).

It just mentioned that there would be a checkpoint somewhere in Clermont County Friday night/Saturday morning but that the exact location would NOT be announced.

I'm not sure if this got into the paper though.

Good job WLW! They are definately getting the word out today about the one on Delta Avenue Friday night.
