Another black eye for WVII

Aren't 90-percent of the TV Viewers already watching Channel 2 or 5? What are WVII's 6 and 11 pm ratings? Have they ever been even #2????

At all of Bangor's network affiliates provide some form of local news, opinions of product or where the new products origninate aside. In Burlington VT, which I'm sure is a higher ranked market, only two out four network affiliaites provide local news. Though rumor has it that ABC 22 and Fox 44 are going to go for local news again. It would be good to have more local choices !

I was visiting in Burlington this past August and was watching a 6PM Sunday local newscast on WCAX TV Channel 3, which I thought was quite slick and professional. It was the only local news on (aside from the Montreal locals.) Can;t recall lady anchor's name..but very polished. But, this was just a one-time viewing. In comparison to Bangor's locals I'd be curious to compare them.

WVNY has tried doing local news several times, but it's never seemed to work out. Hopefully, WVNY and WFFF can get the ball rolling again. I think the most recent attempt at local news at WVNY lasted three years (I could be incorrect about that though). I do know the most recent incarnation didn't last very long.

Bangor, ME is market 152. Burlington, VT is market 90.

Channel 22 WNVY did do an honerable attempt at local news, to bad people did not find it. The graphics, and presentation did impact the other stations in the market, it did make Channel 3 and 5 present more in a contemporary way. I have never seen a Bangor TV station newscast, even when I frequent the Canadian Maritimes, the network affiliates come mostly by way of the Boston stations.

The Channel 7 newscast does indeed sound interesting though, hey at least it made the NY Times..
