Another bleeping translator blocking an FM station!

Ugh! These guys now killed another station I could receive fine (from Denver with an outside antenna); KKFM from Colorado Springs. They keep dropping like flies with this AM Revitalization junk.

Thanks FCC (not).

The other day I was driving north of Denver and there was more than one frequency that had a translator popping in and out on top of a real station. They are doing a great job of trashing the FM band.

In terms of programming diversity, there's nothing KKMG (targeted at Colorado Springs) offers someone in Denver-Boulder that KALC, KPTY, and KFCO don't provide.

It's an out of market station. KVCU is an independent Boulder radio station. Its likely audience rarely uses AM.

So, yes, the frequency is better used to translate a Boulder AM station providing a unique format than staying clear so someone can listen to the fourth Top 40 station on the dial from a market they don't live in.

KKFM is a classic rock station, so more like The Fox and The Mountain. I realize not that many people in Denver care, but also with all this overlap of coverage (not just 98.1) there are areas now where interference is high and neither station is listenable. Again, maybe not that many people care, but I find it annoying that the band is being trashed like that.
