Another Bloodbath At Clear Channel

Guess it's no secret now, but the latest bloodbath at Clear Channel sure took out a lot of programming talent.
I've heard that every station in Burbank fired talent and that there were more administrative and support staff let go as well. I've hear that all of the weekend jocks at My FM are gone. I've also heard that Al B. Sure is no longer doing midday’s at Hot92 and that KOST let most of their weekend staff go. What can be said other than it really sucks. And what of those left behind? Will they have added duties? Wonder who else was laid off?

I'm looking at KOST 103.5 website it looks as if Clear Channel Los Angeles canned Bre and Cathy. Christine and Ted are still there as far as I can tell.

And yet I still heard Vic The Brick doing sports updates on KLAC during my drive home.
There is no merciful God.

Oh wait, you said CC cut out "talent".

Brie and Cathi have exited and Ted is out as well, but it looks as if Christine is still there. That leaves only one person to fill in for vacations and sick leave. That can be difficult for a program director to juggle.

At 104.3 Ray Rhodes is out. Don't know about Kriski, but I wouldn't be surprised if he's been relieved of his duties.
It looks as if My FM has no one to fill at all. How in the world does that work?

You are correct, sir... Al B. Gone!

KHHT (Hot 92.3)/Los Angeles midday personality Al B. Sure! was another casualty of company-wide cutbacks in Los Angeles. He joined the station two years ago, and continues to tour as an R&B singer.

If they had no DJs to fill in between music and commercials (like many many stations do overnight) does anyone think listeners [not ppl here of course ;)] would even notice?? After all besides overnights across the USA, on stations here in SoCal we have JACK-FM and JILL-FM. I remember for a while KPRI in San Diego had no DJs on after 7 pm. (most of the shifts on KPRI are VT'd anyway)

Jocks are one of the station eleements that set it apart from the others. They're part of the sound, the make up of a station. Without thenm it's just another ipod. Don't knkow about you, but while I like my ipod, it can be boring. Would anyone notice, yes, I think so. But maybe it's because I'm a deejay.

Gotta agree with Robnoxious. I don't understand how CC can have multiple massive rounds of layoffs and yet Vic the Brick still has a job. He could be the most annoying broadcaster since the Greaseman. If CC only knew how many times I've flipped the channel at the mere sound of his voice...

Sorry Vic, the schtick was old over 20 years ago (impossible to believe he has been in the market that long, but I believe he started on Channel 13 in 1988 or 89), I don't need the scores screamed at me, I don't live and breath LAKERS so I don't need to know how Kobe feels today and I am not "feeling you".
