Another boring automation software question?

I don't understand what makes it appealing.

But as far as I am concerned, Nexgen , or the scaled down version "Player101", beats Staion Playlist hands down!

.. and costs a good deal more. StationPlaylist is simply the best value radio station automation and has a few features that some of the more expensive systems don't. It's been running here without a glitch for three years ... and the support is unbeatable. I seriously looked at Prophet's 101 offering (under its various names :)) and simply couldn't justify the cost premium for a fully automated/voicetracked station. Maybe it has the edge for live-assist, don't know.
One of the beauties of the SPL suite is that it generates the music logs automatically. If you run a "non-current" format like Classic hits or Oldies, you set it up & walk away from it. The PD can spend the time on doing more important things. SPL is a complete solution for about $400 or so. And it simply does not crash...I've had it playing for about 5 years now & never had a dead air instance. I simply can't say enough good things about SPL. If you want to hear another example of SPL, www.superoldies1580.com includes voice tracking daily Mon-Fri until 7PM. It does time & temperature as well, but 1580 isn't using those features. They all have a learning curve, but from my experience, teaching SPL to air staff is easier than teaching Simian/BSI.

Just because I respectfully disagree, doesn't mean that I can't give credit where credit is due! So, I listened to http://www.superoldies1580.com/, as BobOnTheJob suggested. It does sound Really Good!!

OT
Nice station, the processing neeeds a bit tweaking...I've just heard a Jeff liner ;D
Thanks for the props...the station spent all the money on the Over The Air processor...what you hear is what $50 buys on eBay...a used Behringer. Until the economy improves, I have zero chance of upgrading it. When it improves, I have a 10% chance. Wish me well!

Have you ever heard about Jazler ?

This is very stable sofware (yes, have only 3 categories: music/jingles-sweepers/commercials) but for more than 5 years (24/7) never ever crash! (€ 780 for 2 full licences, free updates)
Now, they have brand new most powerful software RadioStar (still in beta) with amazing functions. How many (expensive) softwares can play (almost any audio format/compression) directly from HDD, CD/DVD, USB without importing ?

Check it:
