Another Brockton Pirate. On 92.7

For the past few days on my afternoon commute down Rt24, I've picked a new pirate on 92.7 (I think they're only on in the afternoon). Sounds like another Haitian broadcaster.

Anyone else pick these guys up??

I will check this signal out today . I Love 96.5 . Pirate Radio Rule's !

Let's hope that the FCC prosecutes them to the full extent of the law.
Drop a dime to Immigration while they're at it...

why do you assume they're not in the country legally?
Because the Country's ignorant have decided to shoot first and ask questions later.

Brockton is becoming the hotbed of Pirate Activity. Personally, I find these pirates are a royal pain in the arse. I used to listen to a lot of the Part 15's who used 96.5 and also listened to 96.9/WTKK while driving through Brockton. But, as sure as day, another super powered overmodulated non-English speaking pirate station steps on the frequency and becomes a "Channel Master" and sells ads taboot, without even thinking that other people were using the frequency (legally). But nope, yet another non-English speaking pirate broadcaster turns on. It also takes away the last DX frequency available.

Let's see now, Brockton has pirates on 92.7, 96.5, 101.3, 102.1 (forget listening to WAQY anymore). Never mind the AM pirates. It's become a total joke. I wonder though..... if a mainstream English speaking pirate were to fire up, how long would it be before it would disappear? Hmmmmmmm.......

If they are not in the country illegally, they have nothing to worry about (at least from Immigration...)
But let's check it out and make sure. Illegal activities, be they related to broadcasting or immigration,
ruins things for everybody else who plays by the rules. The rest of us wind up paying for it, one way or
the other. Unless you are a Native American Indian, we were all immigrants at one time or another.
But it was accomplished LEGALLY, through the proper channels. Big difference...

I notice in the FCC Applications & Actions that a LEGAL 99.9 operation in Lawrence is about ready to go forward...but there's a PIRATE on 99.9 right now. Oddity about the Lawrence application (W260AS): the transmitter appears to be on Silver Hill in Haverhill (home of WCCM-AM and WXRV-FM) and the predicted contour barely touches Lawrence.

hmm? so the wholesale slaughter of countless native americans by murderous european savages (pilgrim immigrants) was accomplished all legal and proper eh??.. stop the false concern about weather or not the pirates are illegal or not ...any chance you get to bash non white immigrants you jump onto ..

No, not at all. The bulk of American immigration came long after that period.
Was that wrong? Absolutely. No argument there. But political coorrectness
is now killing us. It is WAY over the top at this point. Sooner or later every group has
to suck it up and take charge of their own destiny, and stop their whining.
Get your own house in order before you play the blame game.

Our clientele here at WLYN/WAZN are all immigrants. LEGAL immigrants. They work hard, keep out of trouble,
and are responsible for their own actions. The way it should be...

Too bad

Too bad. The formets of the licensed stations in Boston do not reflect the reality of who lives here. They are owned by out of town corporations that ignore the true demographics to serve the almighty white male in the suburbs. Pirates are surely illegal, but are just responding to the mismatch between station license allocations and who really lives here.

oh come on.. I'm sure there are some undocumented immigrants who listen to WLYN... I think you should find a way to prevent your signal from reaching their radio sets ;)

also... thumbs up to Kwum and Ciao for their posts. Good to know that I'm not alone in my opinion here.

By clientele, I think WLYNgm means the producers, individuals, and organizations who purchase the airtime on the station for their programs to air.

Add 88.5 FM to another Brockton pirate. In Mono, clear on Rt.24 Also, pirate at 96.5 must be strong, still Loud and clear in W. Bridgewater and Easton. 50 -100 watts?

I'd say 500 - 1000 watts. I can get the 96.5 pirate down through Middleborough. This is one of the strongest Brockton pirates.

bonjour tout le monde

I intend on listening. I volunteer with Haitian kids on the weekends and I'd love to learn French Creole (AKA Kreyol)

The pirate in Brockton at 102.1 is grossly overmodulating, and causing a lot of splash unto WCIB 101.9 New Bedford. it is bad enough that they are on illegally, but to not follow the technical rules and interfer with listening to a legit station , is too much
There was a pirate in Boston at 105. 3 Fm tonight broadcasting a RDS signal.. "VIBE at 105.3 FM , Carver Dew" They also had a commerical for an event this weekend at the Berkley Performace Center. Got the signal from Quincy down to Avon. Must have over 100 watts ERP.
