Good thread! Wow, the leaking Koss headphones that always sounded fantastic and eventually fell apart (after Scott Robbins used them..I say that lovingly) The daytimer that the air studio doubled as production after sign off. The 3 inch reels for spots played on an AMPEX 601. And et's (electrical transcriptions) Man am I old..played commercials on huge discs. The first cart machines. Remember the spotmasters that went CKANK when engaged. we used to put the spot on the cart and leave a moment before the audio just so the jock could talk over the CLANK. Remeber CUE burns? Studios not sound proofed and the sound of fire engines, traffic, people, etc in your headphones while you were talking. RF in the telephones, in the background of spots recorded in the prod room!
