Another Christmas station!

Magic

Apparently, Magic 106.7 has not gone all-Christmas yet (very surprising) as of Sunday night. However, they ARE streaming all-Christmas music according to their website.

Last year, they waited until the day after Thanksgiving to make the switch. Maybe that's what they'll do this year.

Okay, now, are you just assuming that, or did you actually HEAR that?

Probably assuming, but it seems accurate. As of 8:00 tonight, they haven't flipped. They'll probably flip tomorrow.

Did they flip at midnight or a different time last year?

A friend who is a regular listener said they would be flipping tomorrow. They don't like the concept of Christmas music BEFORE Thanksgiving either.

EDIT:

Well, you guys will be SO HAPPY to hear this!......

Magic 106.7 is NOT doing the All-Christmas Music format this year! YIPPEE!!! I know because I looked at their website. And they just played the song "Breathe" by Anna Nalick, and before that was "Step Into Christmas" by Elton John, and before that was "I'll Stand By You" by the Pretenders. Finally, they realized that it's not a good idea. I even read somewhere that most of their listeners weren't happy last year. And besides, there's already Oldies 103.3 in the Boston area for Christmas music. That may be another reason, because they were competing. Anyway, I'm glad they're not doing it.

???

Why in the world can't we appreciate the listeners WHO APPRECIATE SEASONAL MUSIC....and stop the bickering over whether a radio station 'steps into Christmas' or not?

It's only a thought...but wouldn't it be more productive if a few radio stations paid a little more attention to their programming during the OTHER 11 MONTHS OF THE YEAR? I'll bet there are at least one or two that could use a little re-tooling?
[And Santa's elves certainly aren't gonna help in that area]! :p

Well, believe it or not, from what it looks like....

WMJX is the ONLY AC station in New England that ISN'T going All Christmas this season! I guess they just like to stick to what they've always done. They tend not to like to play with their format and try new things very much.

I appreciate seasonal/Christmas music, but not just after Halloween and Veteran's Day. After T-giving maybe.
Stations can do what they want--if they feel going all Yule on Nov 15 can make them lots of money, more
power to them, but don't expect me to tune in till a couple weeks before 12/25. It's not like I'm not being exposed to it at the malls, in restaurants, etc. I'm not a Grinch--it's just hard to focus on Sleigh Ride
when it's 52 degrees and "it hasn't snowed a single flurry"...
