Another Clear Channel Rumor

No facts here yet, just speculation. What if the Evil Empire sells their 2 Cincy spinoffs to people who agree to let Clear Channel L.M.A. them back? They would not "own" the stations anymore but could still make their money and control the programming. If done right could it be within the letter of the law even though it might not be in the spirit of the law? And if it can be done here, why not all around the country? You saw it here first, I think...

Since 1992, you've never been able to LMA a station you cannot own. There were ways around that in the past, like JSA's and PSA's (Program Supplier Agreements), but, as was mentioned previously, those now count toward ownership caps. Besides, the DOJ has ruled Clear Channel must divest the stations. That means the DOJ must also approve the buyer and any operating agreements. There's no way they'd go for a deal like that.
