Does he replace someone on that show?
He replaces AJ Cannon who was there for a cup of coffee, speaking of Koffy I guess he's gone too. With a 1.6 share if I were Todd I would keep an updated copy of my resume handy.

How in the world can they justify spending even more on that show/station ? wow. If they are needing another body in the room to make that show work, that someone should be making the most money.

How is a producer going to change that show dramatically ?

At a 1.6 its not the producer position that needs fixin. That is kind of like drizzling chocolate on a mud pie.

And even so - even if - hasn't the market sampled the crap on 94 9 for so long that they could revamp the whole thing to a winning equation and it wouldn't register because people have already made up their mind ?

Like you gave a sandwhich shop four tries and the food sucked all four times so.... you just don't go back - even if they change their menu.

I do not know Todd at al nor did I ever listen to Rhubarb but if I was looking for a producer of a morning show on a country station in Atlanta and Rhubarb's old producer was available, I am probably hiring him.

Todd will outlast the bull on 94.9 and do well thereafter. He is a good guy and I'm glad to see he is back home.
Huh? Based on what criteria? So how is it he did not outlast GAC nights? The producer for a national syndicated show or a board op for a want to be DJ, I admit it must have been a tough choice.

Nobody is looking at all of the aspects behind what Todd has been doing for the last few years. He worked with a radio icon for years. He left for a more "high" profile gig. And he's coming back home to produce a show that he believes in...and a guy who he has a personal relationship with...and who quite possibly needs that personal support right now. I think it takes a pretty cool dude to give up a "nationally syndicated show" to come back home and get it done. And for the record...Todd isn't a producer who walks in the door salivating over how many minutes of air time he gets each morning. He's a pro. He's known Cledus for a long time.

The country music audience is unique. They are grossly loyal. And they hate change. Cledus and his crew pulled some great numbers in Tampa. He's a funny guy. He's finding his niche. And Todd is the perfect guy for that position. We all tend to criticize without giving anything time to culminate. The Morning Mess is a perfect example. Everybody slams that show - but when you ask the public - you hear more people now saying they like it. Everything takes time. Hang in there Cledus, Jamie and Slam - you just might be okay afterall. And Todd...do your thing - a great producer DOES make a huge difference. Any of us who have had a great one knows that.

Todd is the perfect fit for that gig. Before we start ramming him about leaving a nationally syndicated show I would first take into consideration that he took what was by all accounts a mess and got it up and running in Nashville. Having done that he didn't get the recognition he deserved OR the Executive Producer job that he deserved. That job went instead to someone with far less experience who just happened to have some juice around the office.

Cledus isn't everyone's taste ... that is clear from reading the posts. But then how many of us are in that core female demo? I'm not trying to say that show has an easy road ahead because, hell, they're up against a heritage in the battle with Kicks. But Todd is the perfect choice to help The Bull with some listener poachin.' And a good producer who has his head in the game ALWAYS has an impact on a radio show.

No No great for him for landing a gig and scoring a paycheck. Seriously.

The amazment is that Clear Channel keeps throwing money at such a flawed product.

And about liking /not liking and being in the demo - Cletus has recently rolled in a .09 and now a 1.6, a weaker showing than Big D and Bubba. From the business standpoint, they have and are spending a tremendous amount of money on a show/station that is showing zero growth and is continuing to slide.

I would not be surprized if Cletus gets over his fear of Flying - heads back to Tampa to work and The Bull decides to spend the money on Rhubarb and Moby and Wylie. ;D
