Yesterday, the website www.allaboutcountry.com posed the question: Could L.A. Get Another COUNTRY Station?
LA_Guy said:Why, so the max. 3 share country can pull in LA gets divided between TWO stations?
Likely not...
Marv-L.A. said:It would also force Mr. Levine to start spending money marketing the station, which he refuse to do. He stated to Erica Farber (R&R EIC) that he felt that KKGO could earn a 2.0-2.5) rating, which is preposterous until he opens his wallet.

Its also preposterous because most of his listeners have never seen an Arbitron diary or People Meter or any other ratings device. They are more likely being given to and filled out by David E's listeners than by country fans

Racist. Not suprising for a hillbilly moron.
Diaries ard placed in proportion to market demographics such as age, sex, ethnicity, geography, etc. They are placed to yeild returns that are proportional to the market demographics. If 42% of the market is Hispanic, 42% of the diaries should be Hispanic.
The PPM panel, in theory, is totally proportional at all times.
So, if country is going to be an under-2 share format (which is actually about a 6 to 8 share of the non-Hispanic white audience) there are going to be very few diaries in the hands of country fans becaus there are so few of them. And that is the way it is supposed to be.

The system changed right after that when the National League team was nearly 100% Cincinnati players for that season.
