(Another) Crappy Latina 100.3 Site Up

as a web designer, lemme say a couple things.

first off, that flash opening is annoying. 1000101111010. no one cares.

and the site itself...ill try to say this in the kindest way possible.

we've all been to "Maria's Store" once. you see the western union sign in the front, you walk in, and they have the goya beans right next to clothes and the clothes right next to bootleg movies...and the store owner's kids are running around in their diapers with a crappy tv blaring judge judy WHILE the radio is playing salsa music... THATS what the site looks like.

and speaking of bad website coding: 92 pro fm's song ticker STILL shows up with hot 106's song when you are in firefox.

Speaking of Pro FM, at least the new Latina site doesn't copy WPRO-FM's website code.

The intro doesn't even make sense. It's like some kind of generic intro, with the 01010101010101110101 and the 1 2 3 step-stools don't even make sense. The music sucks, and not because it is of latin-origin. It's just really tacky. Go to the page for "El Meneo". The sound effects lead up to what sounds like a giant fart. And there's no way to shut the freakin' sound off.

What's Davidson doing with the station anyway? I thought that they ran mostly brokered operations. Seeing that the station is already Spanish, they ought to sell it to Univision or SBS, which could transform it into a far more professional operation. "100.3 La Kalle", anyone?

From what I understand most Davidson's station are leased out 24/7. Sometimes one operator leases the whole station as was the case with WXCT in Southington, CT up until July 2005. Now WXCT is being programmed in-house like sister staion WSPR in Springfield. WSPR in Springfield is being programmed in-house because they were already a successful Spanish station when Davidson bought it. They decided not to fix what wasn't broken.

maybe this is just KKB doing the longest Stunt in history.

maybe not. sorry its been a long day. haha
