Another failed show for NBC...

Wonder how many casual viewers thought their local NBC affiliate was pre-empting network programming to carry an infomercial - which certainly is not unheard of...

I like Tony Robbins and I had no clue this show had even started yet. Blame it on poor promotion by NBC. Either that or I just wasn't paying attention.

Then again, how many infomercials are carried on a major network (other than Fox's "Weekend Marketplace")? I would think the NBC show had its bug on screen, which would tip it off that it wasn't an infomercial.

On the same token, it's kind of funny that Tony Robbins' infomercials are seen just about everywhere, yet hardly anyone watched his NBC show. It seems that if you really want to get on TV, you (1) have to pay for the time, and (2) have something to sell.

I saw the sham that is "Weekend Marketplace" this weekend. I was misled into thinking it might be something local, like about local stores or something, but nooooooo.....

I was actually thinking about checking out that Tony Robbins thing, just out of curiosity. I guess I'll just have to catch the dvd package, but then they'll be pestering me on phone calls to buy more stuff...:sigh:

Actually it was a burn-off from the Ben Silverman era that he approved just before he went out the door which was to air in mid-season. The poor promotion was intentional and if there was a strategy to get it infomercial-caliber ratings and send the message that nobody should be racing to get that Don Lapre "Making Money...in Primetime!" show out the door, it worked beyond belief.

I'm sure we'll see the other episodes that didn't air one day...in a "Personal Power" package you can get for three easy payments of $24.95 ;D!
