ANOTHER FLIP FOR KVJY 840 AM (Currently FOX Sports)

I was told that the new ownership (R Communications) is interested in flipping the only RGV Sports station to a News talk format... they also own KURV 710 AM. The kicker here is that they are going to feed it Radio Formula programming from Mexico City and have a local news segment with people that imported from Mexico. All the Mexico City news formats are already on Mexican frequencies that can be heard Valleywide including Radio Formula, so it's anybodies guess if they did any Market research on this move! I believe they flip tomorrow Aug 20th

Who is carrying Radio Formula in Matamoros or Reynosa?
Their main affiliate XHRV 89.5 flipped to Exa FM months ago.

This would not be the first Radio Formula affilate to broadcast to Mexico from the US side.
KXPL AM 1060 in El Paso was the RF affiliate for Cd. Juarez for many years.

XEO 970 carries Formula in Matamoros

XE?? 1110 carries Formula in Reynosa

XHRV 89.5 has a very poor signal and not many in the Matamoros Market knew they had the Radio Formula feed and now much less with it's current format.

KXPL is owned by one of the owners of Radiorama from Mexico City. Their stations in Cd. Juarez are in LMA with the Aguirre family of Radio Centro... Same people operating KXOS Los Angeles

NotiGape in Matamoros and Reynosa actually carry very little Radio Formula.
They produce a good deal of their own programming.

Radio Formula is probably looking for someone to clear more of their lineup. Some Mexican markets repeat THREE Radio Formula networks fulltime.

You are also forgetting 102.3 in San Antonio. They also broadcast Radio Formula.

1500/102.3 carry an American version of Radio Formula from a company called "Radio Formula Networks." The border stations are affiliated directly the actual Mexican Radio Formula.
