Another flip

They tried conservative talk once before on 1590. Nobody even bothered tuning up that far. To say nothing of 1590's less than stellar signal outside Bainbridge Island and Seattle proper.

I still say 820 would be the best spot for their conservative talk offering.

yes, 820 would be a better dial position, mr bongwater.......

but what my arm chair programmer friend would you do with KGNW, and its format, move it to 1590?

1590 was conservative talk? i think you might be thinkin of 13.. AM KKOL, which once had the "conservative talk" motto, and talk show hosts included michael reagan, after his synd stint on KVI ended.

do you remember the salem "positive country" format on 820 AM, KPOZ, back in the 90's, that did not last all that long? country music w/o drinkin, and cheatin'.................

BZZT! Dude, you're wrong. KPOZ was on 1590 shortly after the sale from KZOK to Salem in 1995. Positive Country it was. And most of the music was the pawful of "Christian Country" artists and the rest rounded out by bands like Alabama and The Oak Ridge Boys.

So was conservative talk in the late '90s on 1590, as KLFE. Things fell apart for 1590 again and instead of sticking to the Tried And True Leaflet Of Things That WORKED For 1590 kHz In Seattle Radio and converting 1590 back into a ROCK format (where it belongs), they're about to try another miserable attempt at 'conservative talk".

Well, FINE. Live and learn.

I truly believe 820 kHz is the best chance for this format, Otherwise, Salem has to promote this far more expensively.

And in the end, you get what you pay for. What are they going to say "FAR RIGHT TALK IS NOW AT THE FAR RIGHT OF YOUR AM DIAL! FREEDOM 1590!"

C'mon.....

Like I said, being on 820 kHz has a better chance of being "accidentally" stumbled upon by conservative talk fans. That makes FAR better sense than 1590...

But WHATEVER!..........

bzzt! yes, mr bongwater..you are right on all. (er at least the post above)
scotts memory of the 90's salem AM radio scene failed him, and he should have looked up the facts, instead of post........
