You mocked, you laughed and three months ago I announced
that Bob Rivers would re-sign with KZOK. Right again!!!
How do I do it? First I call the impact of JACK Seattle's
first month to the letter, now this. Hold me...hold me.

I also announced that a bidding war was on for the KBSG
morning show, just confirmed in the PI. While KBSG thinks
they will hold them it won't be cheap. With Rivers signing
for well over two million (but not the three he wanted) a
year, the bar has been raised for morning shows in Seattle.
KJR-FM will make a strong play for the KBSG morning show as
will KLSY. Take it from me: IT WILL BOIL DOWN TO KBSG AND
KJR. KLSY's future is too uncertain. Where will this last
big morning show go? I will tell all in another month, when
my predictions for the end of the year come your way:

1. Where will the KBSG show sign? Will it be for less
than Rivers multi million dollar deal? More than T-MAN?

2. Who will replace STERN on KISW?

3. What will happen to JACK after a good start in Spring and
even better this summer?

4. What morning show plans on retiring in the near future?

5. What station is preparing a format flip?

These questions answered this Fall, by your loyal iknowitall.

The Rivers/KZOK deal is in a stalemate. Rivers is talking with Clear Channel,
Entercom and Infinity. Could wind up on KJR-FM, KISW or KZOK. He already
makes 2.0 million and wants 3.0.

Seems Iknowitall got worried about his 4/30 Prediction:

"Rivers re-signs: DONE"

On 7/9 he said:

"Negotiations still underway"


The 4/30 prediction was great, comeon iknowitall
don't get scared on us and back away from your stuff!
You got it right dude.

Why don't you think KLSY could be a player for Fastlane
and Burns? Seems like your trying to have it both ways
again dude. If the station is not doing well it would
actually make sense to get a new morning show OR do you
think the station is doing well? Now that KLSY is beating
KBKS 25-54 are you worried about your comments that KLSY is
thinking of a format change? Gotcha.
 
Let me help you young folks. On 4/30 I declared
the Rivers deal Done! On 7/9 I declared a breakdown
over terms of the deal and reported a stalemate.

Turns out my 4/30 prediction came true. Deal was done
breakdown overcome. Once a deal is done in principal,
the negotiating over terms (in this case dollars) leads
to more bantering with other stations as I reported on
7/9.

Yet in the end the deal is DONE as I faithfully reported
on 4/30 a FULL THREE MONTHS before the final papers were
signed. Why do you think it took three months from the
initial agreement to announcement the final deal. The
art of the negotiation for you radio neophytes.

BY THE WAY CHECK OUT THE POST ON 4/30...AMAZING. EVERY
SINGLE PREDICTION, THOUGHT INSANE AT THE TIME CAME TO PASS.

Once again, I prove once and for all: IKNOWITALL!!!!

Yeah right. And Pat Cashmen gets dumped on KJR-FM as soon as the market gets a whiff of JACK. Bob Rivers is a commodity to this market, although I fail to see why he's worth it (i don't listen..sorry Bob).

Here's my prediction. Noone cares about either the KBSG or KJR-FM morning show. Any exec who shells out big bucks for rotting, oldies-type formated morning shows is an idiot.

The KBSG show (whoever they are) will either be overpaid or on there way to Reno..or Spokane

Jack will crawl to a TWO share or so before Infinity decides that the marketing, headaches and the inevitable backlash causes them to scream..WHY THE HELL DID WE EVER PICK UP THIS STATION AT 96.5 ON THE DIAL.
