I was having lunch at a restaurant today as someone happen to leave a city paper lying around, I went to read the sports section (as I always first), checking the league standings, I noticed a National Fastpitch Softball league. And as I glanced at the standings , I noticed Philly has a team in the league.
Then my emotion finally came about me as in furious frustration, I cursed at the sky I said "Why doesn't our sports stations carry these games and promotions on the air.
It's a total disgrace that none of our 3 area sports stations carry any fastpitch softball games. Especially since we have a Philly franchise in the league. How can they do this to us?
I am depressed to see our radio enthuasist only put their attention on today's spanish format flip. I can't believe these small to medium market ex- program directors and speculators have not given 2 seconds why WPHT, PEN, or WTTM has given anytime to this ignored Professional softball league with a Philly franchise.
What I think WE should do is boycott all the AM/FM english broadcast stations.... And pay our ears attention to the new Rhumba 104.5 ONLY! I'm also suggesting to roll tape to see if there are any legal ID's in spanish. And to see if they don't succeed before or past two minutes of the hour. If they do, they just might be a pirate.
In these nice softee peacenik pacifist guilty times of hating ourselves and our country's culture.....we can turn things around by supporting fast pitch softball to the airwaves. Forget the IPODS, satellite radios, and chics, and all the countries that want to kill us.............
We need to focus this board on Fastpitch softball, and hoping AM 1310 broadcast these games in spanish so minorities are served as well and won't feel offended. From now on, I feel the need to soffften up my post and project my touchy feely thoughts on the board. And maybe I can make it to the radio racket commentary. Oh! by the way any thoughts on this.
