Another IMZ aircheck

Had time to listen to another old tape my son brought back from K-Town. This one jumps around from 87 back to 84. Starts off with Benji Norton giving tickets away to the car show to check out the "new 87 models". First song is one from the "newly reformed Bad Company - This Love". Followed by Styx - Lady.

Then jumps to Pshyc. Supper with The Monkees, The Letter and Low Spark (with a COmmander Dave image piece). I guess that is the only 3 songs I taped because it then jumps to "Movin' Out" by Billy Joel.

I am amazed at how many dry segs. they did back then. You never hear many segs any more, there is always an image piece between each song now days.

All I Need Is A Miracle
You Really Got Me (Kinks)
Monkees 20th Ann. spot
I'll Fall In Love Again - Hagar
In The Dark - Squier
Life's Been Good - Walsh
House Is On Fire - AC/DC

New Year's Eve promo "top 84 of 84 featuring Cyndi Lauper! Lennon! Jacksons! Pointer Sisters! And listen for your chance to win albums from Ray Parker Jr! (I laughed when I heard this promo, just because of the artists being played on IMZ at the time, nothing wrong with those artists but they sound out of place when mentioning IMZ). Piece voiced by Phil.

Scott Paulson talks about DLR "new" EP "Crazy From The Heat".

Kiss "Lick It Up" tour spot, special guest Krokus. Tickets 10.50

Lennon song I don't know, did he have a hit in 84?

Round & Round, Ratt
Run To You - Bryan Adams
Panama - VH
No Way OUt - Starship
Hurricane - Scorps
If I'd Been The One - 38 Special
LOTS of dry segs during those, but I did hear a "Hot Rockin' FM 104 WIMZ" image piece.

Scott intros # 63 - Desert Moon
Dark Side - John Cafferty

It ends there, but I remember being disappointed that "Every Breath You Take" was # 1.

Normally I would tape all of these "Best of" sets. In fact, I remember taping all 104 songs during the "Firecracker 104" one year. Guess I had no life!

Only about 20 more tapes to go, if I hear something interesting I will post it.

John Lennon had a hit with, IIRC, "Nobody Knows" from the album "Milk and Honey", an album featuring songs he was working on at the time of his death.

Nope, wasn't "Nobody Knows" but another one I did not know.

Actually, the title of the song I was refering to is "Nobody Told Me", not "Nobody Knows". That's the only song I can think of by John Lennon from 1984.

Could it have been his son, Julian Lennon they were referring too? This would have been around the time that Julian's album "Valotte" came out and it had a couple of hits that I know 'IMZ played ("Much too late for Goodbye's" and the title track, "Valotte").

I thought it might be Julian but it wasn't either of those songs. Very well may have been another Julian song... Or maybe they cued up the wrong song!
