Another K-Hits defection to Cox??

K-Hits is NOT flipping formats. That would be dumb. They need a morning show that doesn't suck. They keep losing their shows. Corbin is kicking their butt.

They need to do something, but you're right, they won't flip. Journal will at least give them time and see how things play out before making any major changes.

It's hard to pinpoint the root of the problem at KHTT. The easy person to blame is Jet, but I actually think their imaging and programming has improved with him, and it isn't his fault that Billy left again, just like it isn't his fault that his night guy couldn't stay sober.

It IS his fault that he paired up two sidekicks to host his morning show, that was a major failure.

And, to be honest, it wouldn't be hard to beat Corbin. He couldn't even program an alarm clock.

In Corbin's defense (and he's not a guy that I like to defend), rhythmic isn't his format.

That said, Jet has had difficulty beating Corbin, so...

FWIW, I saw two new (to me) billboards for K-Hits today; one on 169 SB and the other just north of 11th & Harvard (I think).

Both were identical, featuring the K-Hits logo and pics of three female artists... Rhianna, Adelle, and Katy Perry.

I assume these were paid for by Journal, but don't know for sure.

Anytime you have new owners, there's turmoil. Some of that probably isn't helping the situation. To be honest, Jet is a great top-40 jock. With that being said, he's a bit young to have been running the whole programming show at Renda-Tulsa. Under someone else's guidence at Journal I think he'll get some of that training on management he missed. This isn't a slam, just an observation. He needs that training. Hopefully it'll be a great learning event for him to strengthen his skill-set. With proper direction, he has the ability to be a great P.D. The loss of Billy is unfortunate but predictable. He simply was a bigger talent "cooling his heals" in Tulsa until something better opened up. It did. That left a vast vacuum where he and his crew bailed out. Honestly, KHTT probably would have been better off with the old morning show they had because they probably would have not bailed out on them, therefore the vacuum problem wouldn't have happened. All of this is 100 percent clear today, but when Mr. Renda made the decision to get a talented guy like Billy and his crew in there to "kick ass" it certainly looked like the best option. I can't say I wouldn't have done the same really. So, that's what I see has held KHTT back a bit as of late. I still think it's a strong product and with Journal they might very well clean up it's problems.

Caught the new morning show on Mix today. I think this is their second or third week and they sounded good. They seem like a good match already. I am sure she is happy to be away from Khits.

Thanks for the reminder, I'll have to listen in. Should be good.
