All of those folks were top notch players behind the scenes.

As much as we all like to see CC suffer like this... is does make you wonder how they will recover.

If they get desperate, there's always the traffic department. No offense to skid-mark and the crew, but I don't think Mays and Co. want to pay extra for that either!

Ted Houston - made for radio (although he could take back Kevin Christophers job in Wisc.?)

Jim Sharpe - wants/deserves his own show again.

Barry Young - syndication?

Bruce Jacobs - Fox Radio is always on line 1, but wider syndication is possible there too.

Joe Crummey - I would say syndication, but that's just being greedy!

Heard he was interested. Heard Chick Boss offered him the job, but the $$$ weren't right. Then he seemed to drop out of sight. He's the best of the 7 to 10 hosts. Let me guess ... hiring him makes so much sense, they'd never do it ...

SOMETHING ELSE THAT I FIND AMUSING IS THAT, EVEN PEOPLE WHO ARE LEAVING KFYI (JSERBU), ARE ON HERE DEFENDING THE PLACE THAT THEY OBVIOUSLY ENJOY WORKING AT. PRETTY STRANGE FOR A RADIO STATION WITH SUCH LOW MORALE HUH??? LAST TIME I CHECKED THIS IS A BUSINESS WHERE PEOPLE ARE COMING AND GOING ALL THE TIME, SO WHY IS IT SO SHOCKING TO HEAR THAT QUALITY PEOPLE LIKE JARED SERBU, GEORGE OBI AND OTHERS ARE MOVING ON TO DIFFERENT JOBS? RUBBERNECKERS LIST SURE DOES SUM UP HOW RIDICULOUS ALL OF THESE PREDICTIONS REALLY ARE. THE ONLY SHOCKING MOVE MADE BY ANY FORMER KFYI STAFFERS WOULD BE THE ONE MADE BY MIKE ANTHONY EARLIER THIS YEAR. IT WOULD BE UNFAIR NOT TO GIVE KTAR PROPS FOR CLOSING THE GAP LIKE THEY HAVE IN THE LAST COUPLE OF RATINGS BOOKS, BUT IT WOULD ALSO BE IDIOTIC NOT TO RECOGNIZE THAT KFYI IS STILL AT THE TOP OF THE HEAP.

Rubbernecker has added some basic radio reasoning to this discussion and he's right on the money. Markets like Phoenix and all but the top 2 or 3 tend to have a lot of staff changeover. KFYI is still kicking ass despite the departures and will continue to do so. It's nice to see KTAR finally decided to compete. The next few books should be interesting.
 
KTAR has finally started to compete, which is a refreshing change. The odd thing is that KFYI seems to have done nothing to remain competetive. They used to lead the way, now they are just kinda sitting there. It all started when Bonneville took over, and KFYI became "Your News, Traffic, Weather and Talk Station"...They started imitating their less successful competitor!!!

KFYI is in trouble because it has hitched its wagon to a cause that has run out of gas. The Oxycontin Addict is twisting in his viagra-induced hallucinations, and taking more than one overlarded conservative talk station down on the way [Original catchphrases (c) 2006, ZH Productions].
 
Yo, Rubbernecker.. Did you forget Scott Connor, or are eyes playing a trick on us? The Nurse and I think he's the only KFWhyEyer that's never been officially replaced. Although Wheel Of Hosts is growing on us ;)
