Another KFYI Screwup?

There appears to be another  weekend screwup on 55/FYI.

Don't know what happened in the first hour, but the second hour
of Kim Komando was last week's show!

Q: Will the third hour also be from last week?
A: No...but that's because KFYI doesn't carry the third hour!

I suppose it's entirely possible they lost the WestStar sat feed
this morning when it was live. (What, they don't carry it live? ::))

It's possible the network messed up and fed last week's show again.

But...it's more likely the station forgot to record the feed in their
Audio Vault (Prophet, whatever) or programmed the wrong show
for playback.

This is Arizona's number one news/talk station? (Yes, no matter
what the Master Blogger claims.)

And... how will the Nearly Bald One react?

Good ear, Oldiesfan!

Once again, an excellent illustration of what the internet and discussion boards like these are for. To point out the mistakes, gaffes, spelling, punctuation and grammatical errors of others!

Probably a technical problem. Maybe the syndicator sent the wrong hour over the satellite?

Heck, I remember playing the wrong page of spots one morning in a market much, much bigger than Phoenix! Thank God the internets weren't around then. A sharp-eared mega-poster would have heard that, posted it and I would have been busted!

(And by the way, I made up the spots before the end of the daypart.)

I had a similar mishap where I missed the 6am feed of ABC news (I overslept and didn't crank-up the transmitter until about 6:30 a.m.). Anyhow, I carried the 7am feed live and made-up the commercials that next hour. No internet in those days, but my boss noticed and promptly informed me that I was done working mornings. ;D

I'm listening to trying to listen to the the Garden Hour with Brian Whitfill. It must be amateur week-end. It started with 3 or 4 minutes of dead air, followed by some fill-in music. Finally they get started, but can't hear any of the callers, so back to a commercial. Later, when it was time for the news at 7:30, instead of fading in the music for the break, it comes on full blast over a call in progress. Brian takes the hint and says "we'll break for the news", but it is too early, so they go to a commercial.

I would think that KFYI would not depend on interns to work a good, popular local show. Break 'em in with overnight colon blow garbage!

I know CC-Phoenix has been trying to hire an on air producer PM drive since 4/24.

Are you inferring that Foghorn Legh-- er, J.D. Wafflesworth, is "difficult" to work with? ;)

Oldiesfan,

Not only did I run Duke's show but also did 2 weeks of J.D. Not too difficult, Just very picky.

and I'll leave it at that. Although I never had a problem with him. I wouldn't mind having the spot myself.
