Another major setback for 1370 AM

Days after WMGO went back on the air, the station now faces another setback. It has been hijacked. It’s now playing some vulgar music, along with a voiceover telling you to visit “X.com/grimwolfworks” and “X.com/mrautographs”. I went to the first page, and it posts some (SFW) furry drawings. The other one appears to be an old man from the east of England. If anyone knows who’s behind this hijacking, please let this forum, WMGO and the FCC know!

Must be using a Barix Exstreamer for audio to the site. Probably didn't change the default password and someone hijacked it.
A similar incident involving another station (and Barix) in Jackson happened a few years ago. However, it wasn’t “hijacked”, someone just pushed the wrong button, and it went to the default stream that they provide.

and at least two stations have had it happen, mentioned elsewhere on this forum and im aware of a 3rd who had it happen, but hasnt been posted in forums like this.

Who ever does your IT should be savvy enough to reset passwords.

I know it sounds weird but our local electric coop turns the power off when the printers when the office closes. They put out an electric savings "insert" in the electric bills mailed last year that suggested clients get a surge strip with an on off switch, and use the switch to turn off the printer when not in use.

i would guess the hacker (or hackers?) is using the port 9100 of the printer, if this port is open on the public ip adress of a person, this would allow anyone to send a image and print without authentication

That's why I turn off my printer when I am not printing something. I can wait the extra 60 or so seconds to print something. I can "see" my neighbor's printers when hooking up something to my WIFI. I know it's weird but I have turned off the WIFI and have a wired connection from a PC tower for that printer.
