Somebody at the FCC must have failed English 101 since he/she has no clue about sentence & paragraph structure. :-D

Deleted:
93.9 (C3) at Parker
98.3 (C2) at Prescott Valley
98.3 (A) at Miami
98.3 (A) at Ajo

Allocated:
92.7 (B1) at Parker
98.3 (C) at Mayer
101.9 (A) at Miami
106.9 (A) at Ajo

KRIT Parker will move from 93.9 to 92.7
KKLD 98.3 changes COL from Prescott Valley to Mayer
KQSS Mimai will move from 98.3 to 101.9

The 106.9 allocation will be moved from Buckeye to Ajo once KDVA goes dark, which will happen when KVVA moves from Apache Jct. to Shaw Butte (COL Peoria).

Welcome to the Shady Radio Inn...er the FCC. While you're enjoying your stay, please feel free to screw, swap and swindle your way to a full C in a major market at the expense of many. If you can't afford to stay here, too bad. The Shady Radio Inn is strictly for non-braodcasters with a large bankroll looking for flips.

Oh, you realldy want to serve Mayer? Sorry. NO VACANCY

Now, what is it that is wrong with radio?

A class C allocated to Mayer will still serve the Prescott area and at least part of metro Phoenix. A win-win if you ask me.

The concept of "serving the city of license" is irrelevent. Radio stations don't serve individual cities & towns. They serve markets & metro areas. They'll serve the areas where they can get the ad dollars. That means Phoenix and Prescott, not Mayer.

Yes... "serving" a market used to mean presenting local news and information relevant to the market.

Mayer, AZ... basically the Orme School and nothing else (was Re: Another massive frequency swap)

It's amazing. Mayer, AZ basically consists of the Orme School (a private school) and very little else. My wife went to school there and I had the pleasure of visiting there. But, putting in a Class C "in Mayer", to cover the Phoenix market is crazy. For one thing, Phoenix FM's (Class C/100 kW) barely make it to Mayer. KOOL-FM/94.5 was very hard to get at Orme (nearly 100 miles away from Phoenix). This is obviously some kind of backdoor way to get yet another FM'er in Phoenix. Money talks, **** walks. Just like 97.5 from Flag to Phoenix.
