Is thier a reason why Casey Kasem is never on anymore live? I only see him for a brief 3 minutes in a pre recoreded anouncement, and that's all.

I believe Casey and Jean Kasem are still co-hosting the Los Angeles local telethon, which has extended local production segments (as many west coast telethon stations do). His availability to the National telethon would then be limited.
