Another MTV Post, MTV airing Commercials DURING shows!

Anyone notice this? I'm not talking about their usual 6-7 minute commerical breaks, I am talking about for example if you are watching any of their shows and all of a sudden they break into a preview for SCARRED and have a liner saying "Your program has been Scarred" and resume right where they left off. Wow, what a new low. That's like watching something on FX like The Shield and right during a scene they suddenly cut to a ad for one of their shows and cut right back into programming. This totally baffles me!

They are doing this now as a result of mass fast-forwarding past commercials made possible by the DVR.

Advertising revenue is decling faster than a (insert Dan Rather folksy saying here). They are having to come up with new ways to insert advertisements (product placement, ads inside programming, etc.) so that the viewer does not fast forward. As long as DVR's can go past commercials, these tactics will become more commonplace.
