Another music tweak at KTFM......

Sounds like a blend of Mix 96.1, Jack and Magic 105.3. So now KTFM with be competition with it's sister station Jack.

I'm on my back to satellite radio.

That creates a rather interesting visual. What exactly does that mean? I'm older and not all that tragically hip or terminally cool, sorry. I assume it is some kind of sexual reference.

LOL...

What I meant to post was "I'm back to satellite radio."

Very disappointed on the music shift KTFM made.

I wonder if it's a permanent shift, just the time of day, or just the dj. I can never tell with this station, every time I turn it on it sounds different. Highly unconventional at best. For those wondering what was played, they had Katy Perry, Duran Duran, Aerosmith, Sheryl Crow, Def Leopard, Vertical Horizon.

One thing we can all agree on is since the days of Jammin', this is one formatless station. ;D

why don't they go back to what they were when they were jammin? that seemed to get the most ratings for the station

Seriously did you honestly think that they were going to succeed? KTFM is cursed! It would be more productive to throw salt into the ocean.

BMP based that station off its former glory days and success the calls USED TO have. They even went as far as to using the same logo and use regurgitated jocks.

Im sorry BMP but those days are gone.

Is the whole thing even working for them? How are their numbers?

If I was running the show at KTFM I would stay far far away from even mentioning the calls and stick to a regular working format that doesnt confuse anyone and doesnt sound like a 40 year old ladies ipod.

My opinion.... hope you guys get it together.

Sounds like another consultant from yankee land ;D

The problem with this latest format shift is that this will be the fifth station playing these same artists. Perhaps, I am wrong but I don't see the market pie being that big to support a fifth station with almost the same playlist.

Btw, to no surprise this is another half a$$ job made by Landis and crew- same sweepers, same air personalities and same ID.

What a waste of a good station. Just like "jack" this will never be anybody's fav.

That's a great analogy. IMO, the KTFM iPod owner is about 5 years younger, but you're on the right track.

Jack is my favorite terrestrial music station in the market. I'm a little older than the owner of MINDonDAradio247's iPod and the opposite gender. ;D

It's pretty clear KTFM is no longer Rhythmic AC, now I'm confused what the hell to consider this format? ???

KTFM is now a straight-up Hot AC, according to R&R and All Access. Personally, I think they should've stuck with Rhythmic AC.

Well at least it sounds better than most HOT AC stations. Music is more mass-appeal.

Posted by: anthonydt06- Looks like they have a new night show now. They are replacing Joe Nasty with nationally syndicated Billy Bush.

I still have my doubts about KTFM current format. I believe Mark Landis is banking on the growth SA has experience in the last few years as well as capturing some listeners from Magic and Mix.

I'd rather listen to Adult Standards than KTFM, and now more than ever. They've done so much tweaking in the past five years. What's the next tweak, hip-hop and country???

I do like those new electronic billboards though.

*insert yet another complaint about no AOR in Houston*

Has anyone ever noticed the lack of personaliy both KTFM and Jack have? Both stations, the only sweepers I hear are 'The New 94.1, KTFM' or 'Jack-FM'. How about some freaking creative? The jocks on 94.1 step all over intros to 'say' nothing (other than hear themselves talk and give out the phone number). It sounds as both of the stations are just running on auto-pilot. Minimal talent, minimal production, and no 'stationality' - just plain boring, even if the music may be the right 'mix'.

Mix 96.1 sounds right-on, and even if it may be half voice tracked at least it sounds like the talent did their homework. And for me, I'll take KBPA over Jack anyday.

Has anyone suggested Albanian country banjo gangster rap to Mr Landis?

I lost interest in KTFM ever since they let go Rick the Stick and Hot Henrietta.
