Kidd Krad-dick in the morning?! Who's programming at Mix 97.7 in Myrtle Beach anyway? I thought they were "live & local"?!

Judging from Kidd's affiliate track record, looks like Mix's downward trend of the last 4 books will continue.

Judging from the current Arbitron, there's more upside than downside.

Huh? Are you blind?

Mix has Kraddick?

How long has Kraddick been in place? The Web site shows the mojo...

I doubt from your screenname that you can give an impartial statement.

Do you think the station made this change because the morning show was kicking ass?

It's revealing when two new people register and their first post is to tell us a radio station sucks. <P ID="signature">______________

They havent signed on the dotted line yet for Kraddick. 6 months ago, Mix could have had the show for free, but now they are trying to talk Kraddick down so they don't have to spend more money than what they were paying the "live and local" morning show. They never did, nor wanted, to give the local show a chance.

First of all, I HAVE BEEN REGISTERED for quite sometime, I just don't really find anything that sparks my interest enough to comment on, until now.

I agree the first post is entirely biased. It's probably one of the 2 members of the Mojo.

Salty Dog according to your info you live in Atlanta so you probably don't hear any station in Myrtle Beach on a daily basis. I have a feeling you are tight with someone that works at Qantum so that is why you are so quick to defend one of their stations.

Also, where did I say that Mix sucks in my first post? I didn't! I just asked if you were blind and couldn't see that downward trend. It's true!

I just said it was revealing.. I didn't say what it reveals.

Not on a daily basis. But I don't need to.

Tight? No. Do I know anyone there? Yes. I used to live there.

Yo Salt and Jill,
This is the Mix Morning Mojo's Elic Thomas!! I don't hide behind screen names and talk smack(Salty Dog). I don't think "Mix SUX". I have nothing but respect for the folks at Qantum here in MB. If I had something bad to say, I'd say it. But I don't. Sorry about that...if you want real gossip...might check out www.danasdirt.com GTFU!
P.S. J.F. is looking hot these days don't ya think?

Wanna talk about Kidd's affiliate track record? How about #1 or #2 18-34 in 95% of his markets? How about out-performing the station in 89% of his markets? Keep talkin' smack and watch what happens in six months.

No, I don't work for him. (But I used to.)

The good thing about Kraddick is, that show is consistently pretty good, and if management will put in on, produce it well, and keep it on for a couple of years, it should do great. Consistency is important.

MB radio has really been through the ringer over the past few years. I'm sure listeners have no idea what they are listening to anymore. It seems like hardly anyone has stayed on the same station for the past 365 days straight. Part of the problem might be short-sighted owners, and part of it might be small sample sizes causing wild fluctuations in ratings combined with management that reacts to every trend. With only two books a year, you can't correlate ratings to programming content unless you are rock-solidly consistent for at least year and a half.

This might be a crappy metaphor, but it's like steering a big ship. After you turn the wheel on a big ship, it takes a while for the ship to begin turning. If you keep changing the steering before the ship has even fully turned to the first course, you'll just keep drifting around with no direction at all, and you will never know where you would have ended up if you had stayed the course.

As to whether the Kidd show sucks or not, it's goung to take at least 18 months before we will have any idea of what listeners think, and they are pretty much the only ones who matter.

I hate starting new threads, cuz' I and others see them as a waste. So...*BUMP*

Just wondering, what ever happened to Jamie Lee from Mix 97.7 ?? She was awesome, but seemed to just disappear. Anybody have any clue what happened to her ?

Mix doesn't suck, I might add; a station in the 98.1-98.9 range does though 8)

thanks,

She had a baby and I think she's actually pregnant again. I also believe she does part time work on K-Country under the name Amber Jay.

Mix Has went through a lot of good talents like Elic, Marley, Steve "the guy who did the morning show with Jamie LEe". I think mix sound good what ever happen to why did Jill Vonni & Wally left to go to COOL 1049 and the to HOT100? AND Steve and Marley?

According to the jobs section on all access today they are looking for a new PD so I guess Kosmo is out too!

I was just down there the past week for vacation and here's my wrap-upof the stations I listen to:

Mix 97.7 - Great signal coverage, they make a drive in heavy traffic enjoyable and they play a perfect blend of the hottest hits around (CHR-Top 40, Rhythmic-CHR, Rock, even some Country cross-overs)

Hot 100 - They're directional signal is a joke, it covers the Grand Strand and thats it. They play mostly Rhythmic-CHR and nothing 'edgy'. Jocks are boring but have KILLER ID's and sweepers.

101-7 KZQ - One of the best Alternative Rock stations ever. Great blend of rock, and the jocks are fun to listen, but I still miss Mad Maxx.

I didn't check out 104.1 107.1 94.9 or 106.5 since they are boring to me :p

That's all for this years trip. lataa!
