I don't notice that big of a difference with X vs. Chuck. I notice some more static blips on X in Greenville, but that's about it. Remember that they do have a construction permit to upgrade to 250w which will put them on par with the Chuck signal as far as wattage. I've had other people in the car with me before when I've listened to stations with some static and they've complained about it, but it doesn't really bother me, so that's definitely true. If it something I want to hear bad enough, and can't hear it anywhere better, I'll put up with the static. Casual listeners aren't as patient, though.
I've been noticing more X billboards. There's a big one on 385 now between Haywood and Roper Mountain Rds.
Ideally, I think it'd be smart to put Chuck on 98.1/94.1, Hot on 98.5, and X on 97.7. Rhythmic CHR is a troubled format, I'm kind of surprised it has held up on 98.1 as well as it has. There's really no main signal to move X to....the only one they have is 98.1, and Chuck-FM would definitely get dibs on it if the opportunity ever arose.
