Another new station coming to Columbus

American Family Association
Oh boy...

I'm a Christian and this worries even me!

From what I think I know about this organization, they are big on fire and brimstone, boycotts, and such...I don't know what they plan for Columbus but it's not gonna be boring.

Does that mean WCDR's translator at 88.1 FM - W201AK is going to have to go dark? bet that will make them unhappy if they can't move. Wonder if AFA will keep the stations CP or sell it.

AFA does have a station that reaches north columbus -- at 89.1 they have WJJE Deleware that does reach northern columbus.

It's on a 91 meter tower with an 80 meter HAAT. It'll be pretty weak north of I-70.

I have a gut feeling AFA may keep this as their 89.1 is listenable in northern columbus so 89.1 could cover deleware/north columbus and this new station could cover south columbus/south franklin county.

89.1 deleware is basically a repeater of their Tupelo station with a mix of AC / Inpso and Christian teaching.

xmusicmatt is right. Looks like most of the power is also going to be pointed away from Columbus too. And it's a vertical polarization only signal which seems to hamper signal propagation (IMHO). So they will get clobbered in Columbus on most (cheap) radios.
They have to keep from interfering with WSYX which with 20kW will be a problem until they shut off the analog carrier.
That's a strange allocation though. The FCC is getting very creative with the power and height thing...
My 2 cents worth of opinion.
