Well smooth jazz fans, hate to break this to you, but another smooth jazz station has left the building. This time in Denver where KJCD has flipped to sports as "The Fan". Things are not looking very good for this format.

Oh well, Smooth Jazz had a good run. Better than Jammin Oldies. Well it will live on via XM and Sirius, online and our cd collections.

You are sooooooooooooooooooooooo right. Great station... 100% smooth jazz...no ads (so far)... great new imaging. If you don't have an HD Radio.. do yourself a HUGE favor and check out the stream at http://www.smoothjazz1075.com They add new songs and if you are an Oasis member you get emails about local concerts... Peace 8)

Smooth Jazz is alive and well on 107.5 HD-2 in Dallas.

You don't have HD...too bad....

You may have an HD TV and HDTVchannels. I don't. But, I'm not cryaing and complaining to you about it !

Yes its true. I listen to it at work online. Now if they will add some more music and the music they aired when it was 106.1 The Oasis......

EXACTLY !!

I've listened to it on-line and it is okay. But why not experiment and change things up? Play more of the music they played when it was on 106.1. Why not add Musical Starstreams to the mix on a Sunday night? I miss The Oasis, in either form, but it was a LOT better when it was at 106.1

You know how much I whined when the Oasis left 107.5... However, after having XM's Watercolors and The HD/Online Oasis I don't want 107.5 back now... I tried to listen to the Wave in Houston and it was too much R&B, Light Rock and commercials. Just a quick scan of their song log since midnight shows the following mixed in with the smooth jazz...

Marvin Gaye - Mercy Mercy Me
Genesis - Hold On My Heart
The Manhattans - Shining Star
Ambrosia - How Much I Feel
Stevie Wonder - You Are The Sunshine Of My Life
Gwyneth Paltrow & Babyface - Just My Imagination
Selena - Dreaming Of You
Earth, Wind & Fire - After The Love Has Gone
Eric Clapton - Tears In Heaven
Taylor Dayne - I'll Always Love You
Lisa Stansfield - All Around The World
Gloria Estefan - It's Too Late
Sting - Fragile
Mike & The Mechanics - Taken In
Kool & The Gang - Summer Madness
Phil Collins - One More Night
Stevie Wonder - Overjoyed
Norah Jones - Don't Know Why

While I do like some of these songs they belong on KVIL not a smooth jazz station.

Soooooooooooo true Jeff. I have been saying this for about 10 years now. IMO, what killed smooth jazz as a format are the following:

Smooth jazz charts
too much r&b in the format
not being aggressive in the sales/marketing of the format
repetitious music
