Another One Bites The Dust

WMDM in Lexington Park, MD has dropped locally automated soft a/c for classic rock. This station has had an identity crisis for years now as it has been oldies, hot a/c, CHR, rock, classic rock, and soft a/c and not necessarily in that order. It is anyone's guess as to why. The owner seems to flip at the drop of a hat. The hot a/c format, supplied by ABC/Citadel's Today's Best Hits was only on for a few weeks. This was followed by Dial Global's CHR Hits Now!, which only lasted several months. Their soft a/c format was not THAT bad, but not that good either. Very low key liners that sounded in-house produced. Music was similar to the Dial Global format.

KKAD in Portland, OR, which changed its calls to KKOV in January, dropped DG's Adult Standards Monday in favor of a news talk format.
