Another One Gone!

KISN is gone! It was sold to Salem Communications and began simulcasting their Christian Talk programming at midnight. The legendary Top 40 began May 1, 1959. It's namesake was Oldies for exactly 19.5 years.

K-Hits just celebrated its first birthday! It's a 60s & 70s approach and a great station, apparently running live 24/7! KISN, being on AM for the last 2 years, was able to run what used to be considered mainstream Oldies and I'll miss them. They did 2 things that I think hurt them in the ratings: They didn't have a midday announcer to keep the momentum going and there was no promotion. You'd think this would be a viable format for an AM station. I find it hard to believe there's still a MOYL affiliate for our parents and grandparents but no standard Oldies format for us!
