Another pirate...arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!

Pirate now on 107.9 with interesting music, sounds like religious and Spanish music, but have not heard it too often. This can be heard over Kiss 108 in the west end of Providence near Olneyville. Also one on 96.7 with Carribean music and reggae can be heard in the Providence area.

Arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!, Another pirate on 107.7 on the Providence west side, strong on Route 10 near Olneyville speaking French, and one on 103.1 strong on Route 195 in East Providence playing smooth jazz. Ahoy mateys!!! Thar's pirates in them thar cities! Now, who will walk the plank? ;D

I heard that Pirate on 103.1 a couple of years ago when driving through E.P. At that time He/She was broadcasting a channel from Sirius radio. That pirate is a brave one. Not only violating FCC laws by transmitting in the first place. But also violating a different law by retransmitting another broadcasters signal. I'm sure Sirius wouldn't have been to happy if they had known. Oh well... you are right. Tons of pirates hitting the local airwaves. I wonder why there has been a sudden surge.

That 103.1 pirate broadcasts various shows from some syndicated 80s one to Barry Scott's Lost 45s. I don't understand the whole concept of running a pirate station if all you're going to do is run music. If you're going to break the law, at least put something of yourself in it.

The sirius channel on 103.1 could have been an FM modulator, I could hear mine dang near 2 miles away with my Sirus Viser unit,,, you could have also unknowingly been following a car using a modulator.... And do you think Sirius actually cares that they are getting free publicity....?????

Why dont any of these pirates play Dance Music like the ones in the UK...

The sign of all the pirates just shows that local radio isnt serving there audience, although I dont think they should use frequencies that block out Legit stations, otherwise.... AHOY Matie's...... Dang straight... There are pirates in them there citys... My small town has a pirate on 93.5 playing Dance music,,, but why no others... I do remember universe FM in Miami,,, I think they got busted....
