Another proposal related to 107.1 is filed

A proposal to change the table of allotments seeks to change the city of licence of 107.1 to Aragon (just up the road from the current Rockmart COL)and upgrade to a class C1 from the current C2. The proposal shows a tower move from Kingston (a town just west of Rome) to Adairsville. The preliminary map at recnet shows a 70 dbu signal over a big chunk of Atlanta and Chattanooga. I assume this wont be final signal since I doubt that Chattanooga's hilly terrain would allow a signal from Adairsville to provide quality coverage. This is also tied to the downgrade of 106.5 Chattanooga to a C0 which was not disputed recently by 106.5 owner Citadel.
I know 107.1 has been trying for years to get into Atlanta and maybe this will be the trick.

I was speaking with them last week, and they said, "When we go to 100,000 watts..." I responded that I'd heard that would be a problem with 107.1 in Macon. They said, "We'll move the new tower 10 miles north of where we were going to put it, and that will take care of Macon."

Where on REC Networks are you finding a coverage map?

I have always considered 107.3 Columbus as a bigger issue for any potential 107.1 move into Atlanta. Obviously I should have considered Gordon-Macon's 107.1fm.

Go to recnet.com and in am/fm/tv query type in Atlanta for the city to get stations that serve the Atlanta region. At the bottom of the FM list is table of allotment proposal changes and just click on the one for 107.1 Aragon.
