Another question regarding ABC's World News Tonight airing live...

...Have any of the affiliates signed on for this move, or is it business as usual?

According to the press release, there are two west coast feeds: a 8:30pm ET/5:30 pm PT and a 9:30pm ET/6:30pm PT. So which ever one your local station is carrying will now be live, regardless of whether they signed on or not.

Obviously if a station already delays it by a half-hour (taping the 5:30 feed to air at 6:00 or the 6:30 feed to air at 7:00 PT) they likely will continue that practice unless they want to "go live" with the new feed (an obvious marketable advantage, I would think, over NBC and CBS' "updated" - but pre-taped - east coast feeds).

Would any Mountain time zone ABC stations dare run "World News Tonight" in their "access time" (6:30-7 P.M. MST/MDT) to pick-up the second live feed of the newscast??

I think a better idea would have been to have had the three live feeds at 6:30 P.M. EST/EDT (for the Eastern and Central time zones), 7:30 P.M. EST/EDT (for the Mountain time zone, where it would air at 5:30 P.M. MST/MDT), and 9:30 P.M. EST/EDT (for the Pacific time zone, where it would air at 6:30 P.M. PST/PDT, and perhaps in Alaska at 5:30 P.M. local and Hawaii at 4:30 local).

For starters, that one I don't see happening. Plus you have stations like KOTA/Rapid City, KMGH/Denver, KIVI/Boise, KNXV/Phoenix, KGUN/Tucson, KTWO/Casper, KRDO/Colorado Springs-Pueblo, KJCT/Grand Junction, KVIA/El Paso, KOAT/Albuquerque, KTVX/Salt Lake City, KSVI/Billings, KFBB/Great Falls, KWYB/Butte and KMTF/Missoula already locked into airing syndicated fare during that time. The best bet for those stations is to stick with the first two live east coast feeds.

6:30 Central? I don't think WSIL-3/Harrisburg wants to relive those days.

As for Hawaii, I don't see KITV-4/Honolulu moving "WNT" from 5:30, especially since they don't want to lose viewers to Joe Moore(No relation) and Fox affil KHON-2.

He means 6:30 ET/5:30 CT.
