I've only streamed them a little so far, and they sound pretty good. But, I'm surprised they are labeled as Rhythmic CHR. To me, they sound more like a mainstream CHR with a rhythmic lean (like KIIS, KMVQ, etc.). Also, the positioning statement is "Richmond's new #1 Hit Music Station". So I would consider them mainstream CHR. (But that's ok, because I prefer the rhythmic leaning mainstreams over the pure hip hop type rhythmics, which I've always considered "urban" and not CHR anyway).
I'm glad rhythmic CHR is moving back to what it began as in the late 80s (a true mix of rhythmic pop, dance, and hip hop.) That's what I consider rhythmic CHR's to be. IMO, the stations that morphed into all hip hop/R&B, with urban focused airstaffs (like WQHT, WPGC, etc.) are not really "rhythmic CHR", but urban instead. I never understood how these types of stations reported as "rhythmic CHR", when their playlists and airstaff was exactly the same as the urban stations. Anyway, glad the musical cycle is swinging back in the rhythmic dance and pop direction.
