Another rumor about the sports talk scene

Has anyone else heard about a studio melt down at 790 by Chuck Smith that has lead to him being taken off the air?
Let's just say that a little FM birdie has slipped this one in my ear and I know that Smith has been off air all week.
From what I heard and it is all rumor, is that Chuck was flipping out and trying to fight people.
He supposedly was tearing into someone and trying to attack them and had to be held back right outside the Star 94 broadcast studios.
If that is true he should be shown the door. The ratings would probably rise immediately.
Where is Rodney Ho on this story?

I think this has some validity. Both Chucks have been off the air since Monday. and Matt has not elaborted at all on it. Just to say they are off. No comment for how long they are off for. He was getting real short the other day with Matt perhaps he later blew up on someone else. I like Hometeaam better than Big Chuck anyway. Not sure how Chuck Oliver might be involved. It would be odd for both of them to be on vacation in the third week of the new show.

Ryan was asking Matt about how both of them could be off on the same time and how he Doug vcouldn't. Matt basically said I don't know I just work here.

What was it over?

I did find it odd that with the station heavily promoting the new lineups that the two would disappear so to speak.

Were the two of them involved in a fight with each other? Perhaps CS not liking CO trying to move to his old timeslot?

That's what happens when you put 2 no talent dimwits in the same room not making any money!
Both no nothing blow hards!
They should fit right in with the rest of the no talent no ratings idiots on that station.

That's a helluva rumor and I'd be a bit surprised that something like that could stay hidden for very long. Any idea where this particular rumor originated? I've heard of some "trouble" at 790 recently, but this wasn't anything that I imagined.

maybe Chuck Oliver ate Chuck Smith's lunch? That explains alot ;)

At thre start of today's show Matt said Chuck and Chuck would be back on Monday as "they finish their time off." Interesting wording. It will be interesting to see how these two interact on Monday.

That sounds like Matt, though... as in.... he words things weirdly, frequently.

I was able to confirm this story last night with a Star 94 official.
This event 100% did happen.
Makes you wonder why Rodney Ho did not cover it in the AJC?
If I can sniff this thing out, he better be able to.

"This happened," as in CO and CS got into a physical altercation?

They made plenty of veiled references about on today's show. I think he even referred to the Dela Hoya as the other big fight of the week. and jokes about not fighting in the office.

Chernoff as usual took every chance to tweak them. He better hope he doesn't ever piss both of them off or he will be the meat in a Chuck sandwich.

Rodney Ho of course finds no details to the story.
Today on his blog he claims that nothing happened and that they just happened to take time off.
