Another schedule change coming to WOR

Here's an idea: That "Dave Ramsey" show that WOR is airing on tape delay in evenings? Move it to Lou Dobbs' timeslot and air it live (it airs live 2-5 PM ET).

My prediction is that Dave Ramsey will be on WOR about as long as he was on WABC some years ago -- a few months at best.

I got into my car last night after a meeting and WOR came on. Ramsey was delivering this compassionate advice: "If you plan to sell your house, GET RID OF YOUR CAT!" He says the cat will cost you $10,000 in the selling price.

What a fraud! To think that Pegeen Fitzgerald (who founded the "Last Post" cat refuge in upstate Connecticut) was once heard on WOR in that time slot!

So last night I tune in to WOR on my way home, and Savage says that Donald Trump will be on after 6:30. Well, that will be interesting, I thought, completely forgetting about what happens at 6:30 on WOR.

He promotes the interview, and then just like clockwork, Brian Williams comes on at 6:30 with news I can get anywhere, including the now 3 ALL NEWS stations on the dial in NYC.

Tuned out, and never tuned back in.

Who's bone-headed idea is this anyway? Are they intentionally trying to make Savage's ratings plummet so they can get rid of him? How is it a good idea to completely obliterate a segment in the middle of a talk show?

ALL syndicated at night for a 50kw flamethrower?
The kind of programs one can listen to in nearly every other small town markets?

Then suddenly at Midnight, instead of Coast to Coast, WOR runs a nutritional INFOMERCIAL !!!
Gimmee a break.

A better schedule would be a strong local program before or after Savage.
Add a local personality 6 p.m. - 8 p.m. or so then bring on Savage. Not some third-rate financial advice show or Smercomish's lame program.

Steve Mahlzberg (spelling?) was a great host. People are right. The "gov" is weak as a drive-time host.

The midday local host is fine as is Gambling's a.m. drive show.

WOR is a shell of what it once was.
It appears to be retreating in trying to compete with other NTs.

My opinion: Expand David Paterson's show into the 6-7 PM hour. At least it's local - and won't be so awkward when they run the first segment of "NBC Nightly News".

By the way: 1. Smerconish's show altered their syndication method; and 2. it is "Malzberg".

Maybe they should do what WHAM in Rochester just did...dump Michael Savage (he'd been a really hard sell). But then they should do what WHAM did NOT do...follow through on that pledge a few months ago to plug in a new locally originated show during the evening hours, rather than finding yet another secomd-tier syndicated show.

If WOR does indeed expand Paterson to 7 PM as I suggest, Savage is as good as gone. True, they could air the second and third hours of his show but I understand that third hour is a real phone-in. And any syndicated hosts outside of Savage and Mark Levin during that daypart, as far as I'm concerned, may as well be third-tier.

Is Ramsey pay for play or giving spiffs to be on this stations?

Wonder if Ramsey would ever be able to air live in NYC?
