....Say goodbye to "The Night Stalker". ABC has turned the lights out on the revival today(November 14th) after 6 airings.

They never learn..the orginal was good because of star who was good actor Darren McGavin who was believeable instead of some pretty boy actor who you can't relate.

And even that was basically a cult classic; what did it
last, one season (1974-75)? If I were a gambler, I would
have predicted that the new Night Stalker would have a short
life.

You are right! They did the same thing with the remake of Route 66. The dimwits didn't even use the same theme song. By the way, I don't think the original Night Stalker lasted this long into the season. Although 13 epesodes were made it was canceled about 4 weeks into the run. It was part of ABC's wipe out of every show with a "K" in on Friday night. The only survivor of the legendary Friday night massacre was The Odd Couple.

Not just that, but in the original, the mood or atmosphere of the show was suspense. Even each monster had it's own " personality ". This show was way too much like the X-FILES. Too serious. Each character in the original had his/her humorous moments too.
Remember the New Dragnet with Ed O'Niell? Same story.

I wouldn't be surprised if more remakes come down the pipeline(And already ABC has "This Is Your Life" as its next victim).

Like they always say, "When will they ever learn?"

Damn. No more Gabby Union fantasys on Thursdays...she's the only reason I gave the show a first look. Knowing "CSI" was in no danger of getting canceled, I gave 'Night Stalker' a chance this season, and it wasn't half bad.

Too bad they've given it that ax instead of trying a new timeslot. NOW what's ABC going to put there?
______________

Thursday nights haven't been kind for ABC as long as I can remember. Yet, the network insists on putting drama after drama in that timeslot. Oh, no problem, they'll insert The Show That Won't Die (AFHV) or a bunch of shop-worn movies.

Y'all remember when ABC threw in the towel against Cosby in 1986-87 (airing the news-documentry "Our World"). How the might NBC has fallen on Thursdays.

Yeah, what's next, an updated "Room 222"?
______________
