Another slap in the face to Steve

Poor Steve McLaughlin. During November, the weekend team stays intact at 10pm,BUT weather. Yes, Pete Delkus with his clasping hands to make a point, is there in place of Steve. How disrespectful is that? Steve knows, more, presents better ,weather information than Pete by far. Now the "Santas' Helpers" is gearing up,starting thurs day in Denton,BUT Ch.8 is not promoting it too hard as they have done years past, and Troys Picture is featured alongside Pete's. Man are things getting more and more gloomy at WFAA-TV.

I guess you're talking about Steve McCauley.

Steve McCauley is an alarmist goofball. He talks down to the audience and tries as hard as he can to make it sound like the world is coming to an end.

Delkus is a serious forecaster who tells it like it is. I'll take that over McCauley's antics any day of the week - including Sunday.

Seriously, tested? You think Delkus is a serious forecaster? He's not even a meteorologist. He is a goofball.

Not that Macauley measures up to the gold standard set by Harold Taft and David Finfrock at KXAS, but Macauley tells it like it is, while trying to educate people in this market about the weather pattern. He doesn't talk down to them -- leave that Delkus' 90-second weathercasts. I'll take the explanations and rationale from Macauley any day of the week.

Welcome to the board, prwriter. Couldn't agree more about Steve McCauley. I've seen him outshine Troy on occasions when the two of them teamed up on severe weather coverage. He was first with the facts, first with the explanation and the implications. Am I the only who still believes he should have got the nod when Troy announced his retirement?

Thanks for the welcome, JD. Glad to be here. And, ditto. I think a try-out similar to Delkus' introduction (even with the sometimes confusing team weather concept) would have been a smart idea for McCauley.

I couldn't agree more JD. Steve should be the heir apparent to Troy.
Delkus is another brainchild Of Kathy Clemments, and the News Producer, who made John Mcaa announce the winner of the world series before Dale. Steve is camera friendly, conversational, and authoratative.
Delkus is a "drama queen".Watch ihs face, his constant slapping of his hands, his ennuciation of words. He would be wonderful on FOX in a soap
opera. Troy(despite the PR imagery) was and remains disappointed that Delkus was hired as his replacement, not as a staff meteorologist. He wanted Steve or Greg too move up. Ch.8 continues its slide, despite its political machine at winning some awards. Steve deserves the respect from management, not the clownish disrespect from Pete.
