When I was a kid, the jocks were as exciting or more than the music. I listened just to hear their voices and how they worked their magic. I knew I could not be one cause nobody hired jocks back then who talked like Fran Fine. KQV, WAMO, WEEP, KD, and KHJ, WABC,WMCA, and WLEE in Richmond will be engraved in my memory until the day I die. I can't list them all, but I loved you guys and I'm so sad that for the most part it's over. Stations like WRBQ and WCBS I guess are trying to keep the faith, but nothing was like KQV when it was relevant! And fresh!

And, of course, back then radio was alot of fun. I really enjoyed working at KQV. There was an air of excitment and everyone pitched in to make it work. When I started there I didn't think playing 40 records, a "wax to watch", an album of the week and 5 selections from the vault of treasured music would work. However, Sam Holman assured me that it would.....and he was right!!!

I forgot to mention that for many years my wife kept pushing me to put togethe a KQV reunion. I kept putting it off and never did it. I deeply regret that. So many of my friends are gone. Jim Westover, Ken Hildebrand, Sam Holman, Dick Drury, Bill Lynch, Rod Roddy, Henry Debecco, Lee Walters, Bob McKee.....

And, I've lost touch with many others. Bill Western comes to mind. Also, Greg Mason.
