Another translator foul up in Beaumont area

Saw this today:
Ayala also proposes relocating 99.1 K256CC Connell, TX to Beaumont with 250 watts at 100 meters rebroadcasting 90.5 KZFT Fannett

HMMM never heard of Connell, TX!! So I looked at the callsign...CP issued...south of Vidor (just east of the KYKR tower)....on a Texas Eastern Pipeline microwave tower...(know it quite well..friend of mine had a ham rptr on it 20 yrs ago)..Sent them an email asking if they were aware of the CP issued using their tower site. Bet they werent

Sorry but I like 99.1 KODA instead of another source of 90.5 which covers the area already with city grade signal

How does this crap keep happening? We just need to use these antennas for target practice if they're ever built.

By the way, I noticed a man walking around with what appeared to be an antenna in the front yard of a house nearby, like he was attempting to check signal strength or something.

This signal was from the great translator invasion of 2003!!! (10 yrs and it still has not been built!). I was not paying attention then and the name Connell slipped right past me (I called that area S Vidor along 105)..
Even the regular signals are not doing any better....1340 has been running dead carrier mode again a lot...KSET is off; I hear rumors that "Freedom Radio" that was on 1300 is now on 1350 Jasper....mmmm yeah that makes it to Beaumont....(NOT!)...I GUESS Tom Clay is doing the show remotely from Grand Prairie now and no longer lives in the BPT area. Why bother with KCOX is anyone's guess....it has less listeners than 1300 ever did.

Sure enough....got a reply from Florida Pipeline/Texas Eastern......NO co-allocation in place or even proposed!! SO the xlator LIED in their app...time to let the commish know......

More bible thumping scams

Hmmm....what do you know....the call sign K256CC is owned by some "Pastor" named Juan Alberto Ayala. Pulled up his name and this so called Pastor has apps and cp's for xlators all over the place even outside TX. Here's the kicker....his email, address, and phone number are all identical to Antonio Cesar Guel who if you don't know is LPFM public enemy numero uno right now for trying to pull off major scams in the LPFM world.

This wouldn't be the first time he has used fake names or other peoples identities to get past the FCC. If you see any LPFM out there with the name "Comunidad Cristiana of___" or "North ____ Hispanic Education Family Fundation" and "South ____ Hispanic Education Family Fundation" or "___ Hispanic Community Radio" and even "___ Hispanic Community Church" then these will all be LPFM's that he's lied and cheated to get or try to get. It's all about money for him. He sells, trades, and even leases out all these stations for a profit. Take for instance KXVR-LP in Corpus Christi, TX. Word is he just found another sucker (I mean Pastor) here in Houston that wants to lease out KXVR-LP from him. It's amazing how he has not been caught. There are no studios in Corpus Christi anymore. Another tenant has leased suite 413 of the Value Bank building for the past couple years. From what I've been told they are streaming audio via internet to the transmitter site from out of town. No "real" board members living in Corpus Christi, no "real" non profit group based out of Corpus Christi. It's all just a scam to make money. I hear he does this in other cities and states as well.

If you have such proof on the studios, etc, go file Form 2000-E on the FCC web site and get them busted....LPFMs have been abused by the "money for God" types......and the AMs owned by dollar a hollar preachers let them go down hill and do not maintain the sites or keep them legal....The "Christian Ministries of the Valley" have lied in several buys or attempts to buy stations...they were denied buying 1150 Port Neches 5 years ago and I thought it was with prejudice as they attempted to take control of the station before the FCC signed off on the sale (CMOTV paid for the land clearingand restoration of the tower site before applying to buy the station...not the then owners, Vision Latino...who were hurting for money big time. THATS a NONO! And thus the request for xfer was denied...and I though it was with prejudice which would prevent them from trying to buy it again...evidently, it was prejudice with a time limit and not EXTREME Prejudice....they eventually bought the station...but run Mexican religious programming and the COL, Port Neches is maybe 1-5% Hispanic)...so much for service the PUBLIC...

Sad state of affairs in US radio these days...

The FCC has canceled some of Guel's full power FM stations that were "on the air".
DKDAJ 176034 FM CENTRO DE INTERCESION Y ADORACION INTERNACIONAL, INC. LICENSE CANCELLED
DKZCA 176173 FM IGLESIA JESUCRISTO ES MI REFUGIO DE SAN ANTONIO, INC. LICENSE CANCELLED
DKRBO 174074 FM CHRISTIAN FAITH CENTER OF THE VALLEY LICENSE CANCELLED
DKRBP 174066 FM CHRISTIAN FAITH CENTER OF THE VALLEY LICENSE CANCELLED
DKJLC-FM 174417 FM CENTRO CRISTIANO VIDA ABUNDANTE LICENSE CANCELLED
DKNGQ 174420 FM CENTRO PALABRA DE FE CHURCH LICENSE CANCELLED

Seems there are a couple of low power DTVs for sale in the BPO market as well.....Channel 2 Beaumont and 3 Orange...yet, 100:1 says they donot have the tower owners approval (ATC and SBA respectively) and LDs on LOWBAND??? The coverage maps via the FCC web site are a joke!!! The LD 6 in Beaumont is on the Sutherland tower off Lucas (south of the 990 AM site and the proposed 97.1/107.7 xlator site) Its supposed to be omni at 500w ERP at ALMOST 400 ft....you cannot see it with simple indoor antennas 5 miles away...and these two LDs on 2/3 with 300w ERP less than 200ft will cover ALMOST as good?? HA!!! What a joke.....actually the "ministry" who has these LD CPs, SPIRIT OF PRAYER MINISTRIES INC., wants to sell ALL of their Texas CPs it sems (Tyler, Amarillo and for a combined price of $175K....signals are not worth 1/10 that...what a joke...

AND there is a full time station (Doesnt say AM or FM but NOT TV) for sale.....asking $350K!!! Sounds like Martin and his 990..CAN'T be KSET; it was going to be sold for $150K a few years ago....but the financing fell through..COULD it be KOLE?? WAY too much for a Class C though it does cover good even at night into Beaumont...and no other station for sell that I know of unless Christian Ministry of the Valley wants to sell 1150 after ALL they money they sunk into it buying it (and not buying 1st time around but still trying to take control early!!) from Vision Latino....

hhmm time to ask Bill Hill about using the KSET site for some ham contests coming up...ARRL 160m CW contest is in 1st week of December; time for Continuous Wave to put a signal on the band while we can!!..ONE of those towers would do quite nicely on the band omni!!!...wanted to do that with 1250s 500ft before Radio Maria fixed the directional..but 250w on the other tower likely would have overloaded the 160m rcvr (well, with a good BP or HP filter, we could have done)...but the 500ft tower on 1.8-2MHz??? WHAT A BLOWTORCH!!!

Where was this at Stan??? (Steve Lee of the FCC is from Port Neches; he was one year behind me at PNG , and his mom still lives there; his brother lives in Nederland....may have been Steve visiting!!)

This was in the west end of Beaumont near Major and Collier.

He's now doing it again, This time DMA #5 Dallas and Radio One has fallen victim.

 Well You know it wasn't the FCC looking for pirates, could have been utility company checking signals from water meter transmitters, perhaps smart electric ?meters
