Another TV show axed: "Prime Suspect"

Wasn't there going to be an American remake of "Ab Fab" with Roseanne involved? Has that never gotten the green light?

I guess Americans will not settle for recycled crumpets.

I am not surprised by this announcement.

At times "Prime Suspect" reminded me of the characters on the series "In Plain Sight". In fact one of the stars of that show appeared just last week as a love interest for Jane.

There are just too many cop shows on TV to suit my interests. Why CSI Miami is still on the air amazes me. Caruso can not act!

I'm a fan of Maria Bello - excellent actress, good looking lady. But this American version of Prime Suspect was a real disappointment. The writers totally neglected all of the interesting facets of Helen Mirren's character from the English version, and tried to turned Jane all macho, thinking that would be more in tune with American audiences that need more action and violence - or so they think.

A mediocre remake that deserved to be cancelled.

The days of All In The Family and Sanford and/or Son are long over.

I forget that these were based on British series... Also, the Bill Cosby CBS sitcom inspired by "One Foot In The Grave" comes to mind.

In my view the American version of Top Gear is also a real dud.

It is the wry humor of the British hosts that makes the original so engaging.

From what I've heard, most American reality shows are based on similar British shows. England and Japan more or less created that genre - or at least re-popularized it in the most recent decades.

I can't recall where a network kept forcing a show onto the public quite like "Prime" and have it die in mid season. Wasn't it on four nights in one week during October or November?
