Fusion 98.7 WLFQ-LP has changed format recently to all Christian Hip-Hop instead of the mix of Christian Hip Hop/Metal/Alternative/Contemporary/Praise. The new GM emailed a friend of mine and accoring to him, live programming (DJ's) will be coming soon. Any comments?

Also, does anyone know about the new licenced (with call letters) Wakarusa station. Also, why licence a station to Wakarusa when the transmitter is south of New Paris?

If you think about it, Christian Hip Hop isn't a bad idea for an LPFM station in Elkhart. Especially when you look at all of the other religious stations in the area and what they're doing.

You have Contemporary Christian on 92.1 and 96.9 as well as 104.7
Religious and Inspirational on 103.1
Christian Rock on 94.7 (More of an Elkhart station than South Bend)
Black Gospel on 89.7 (Whenever they get around to turning the station on)

And I think one of the Spanish LPFM's in Elkhart or Goshen airs a Spanish religious format.

Christian Hip Hop is really the only religious format not being done in Elkhart-South Bend. <P ID="signature">______________

> Sounds like another radio guy who has a quirk about all Christian radio...Funny? In the markets I've worked, where there has been a CHR or hotter hit format in the Christian genre', the concerts draw between 750 and 3,000 (depending on market size)...Alternative gigs are suffering as many mid-major charting bands can't afford to travel and draw just enough to fill a small coffee house... As a seasoned promoter of small to medium venues, don't let the label fool you.... There is a market... The total CCM relm outsells Jazz and Classical combined in annual unit sales.... Reality can bite, if its not your favorite (I remember seeing that in Country, which was my least favorite in the 70's...My tastes have changed alot, but It was looked down on as three-toothed poor financially ladden audiences until the facts proved otherwise in the late 70's and early 80's)... Hey? Polka is hot in Chicago....

I wish WLFQ-LP would have a website with a live stream.
I really enjoy the Christian Hip-Hop format and would love to hear their take on it.
My favorite station in the format is RadioY.com's "Y Hot" stream. (Run by Z88.3 Orlando.)

FWIW, I also think it's a good choice for South Bend.
(And isn't 94.7 getting a translator in SB soon?)
