I noticed in their legal that they have translators in Colebrook NH and White River Junction, VERMONT.

Why? When have you ever seen (and why would there be) Vermont news on WMTW?

What about WMUR?

Was the translator around back when they had their transmitter atop Mount Washington?
______________

I was under the impression that these translators had something to do with replacing some of the coverage that WMTW used to provide.

Doesn't WMUR already have North Country translators? I think it would make more sense for WMUR to have a UV translator than WMTW... either way both are Hearst Argyle ABC affiliates.
______________

They do, in the Littleton and Berlin/Gorham areas. These translators used to carry Fox programming back when WMTW was on the Mountain - but may now just carry straight programming from ABC. I think that changed with the Hearst-Argyle purchase of WMUR.

The idea of a WMTW translator in the UV is perplexing. They are now TWO markets removed from this area - where abc afflis WMUR, WCVB and WVNY are all available via cable.

Perhaps it's a relic of an earlier time that no longer exists.....

There are, I believe, still a couple of cable systems in southern Vermont that have WMTW in their lineup. Things happen a bit more slowly up here I guess. As you mentioned, numerous other ABC stations are available (in this part off the state replace WVNY with WTEN/WCDC and/or WGGB).
______________
