Translator 101.1 K266CC, Cheyenne, WY is under the process of changing hands to Vic Michael's Cedar Cove Broadcasting, and will likely rebroadcast the KRKY format already found on KFCY. My one question is WHY? But that's not the weirdest part. They plan to relocate the tower Southwest of Cheyenne near the KLEN/KGAB tower, and point the whole pattern westward. Hey, let's look on the bright-side: This should make KOSI Denver easier to receive in Cheyenne again.
But, this is an odd move that scratches heads. It will be a translator of KFCY, as I already mentioned, which KFCY covers Cheyenne good enough on it's own. (Although, there is a few spots on the west side of Cheyenne where it can get staticky, but that's the whole point behind upgrading to 3.6kw, to get better coverage, right?) But then it's almost an insult to move the translator away from town so it helps no-one. Unless, of course, there's a bigger plan of action here. What would that even look like? Perhaps there will be some big format changes to come. The dude's very unpredictable. I mean he picked up 1630 KVAM for like three months, and immediately dropped it like a rock (and YNOP picked it up), and the fact that he owns some rights to 1480 KRAE is just scary.
