ANTENNA TV LISTS CABLE CHANNEL NUMBERS (16+ MARKETS)

If you haven't visited them lately, they now list not only the local station
but also the cable channel for almost half of their affiliates. Unlike RTV, they
seem very interested in getting cable on board from the start if possible.

My buddy has Verizon Fios here in LA and This-TV is on his lineup, however since KTLA officially kicked THIS to 5.3 today Verizon could now be showing Antenna since Verizon was simply airing 5.2. Someone else with Fios TV access would have to confirm if this is true. The channel is located in the 470-ish range with all the other local subchannels.

Odd, in Cleveland it only lists Massillon Cable, a small suburban Canton system.

They may or may not have a channel number yet, but Time Warner Cable has already confirmed it is carrying Antenna TV in the WJW service area - if you read the "legal notices" on TWC's website, you'll see it will be added 1/2.

My guess is that they are only providing cable channel numbers for places where the subchannel already exists on cable. For example, nothing is listed for New York because currently there is no existing WPIX 11.4 subchannel, so it will probably be some time before the cable companies pick this up, if ever.

But Antenna TV doesn't exist anywhere until the first of the year, and many of these stations haven't lit up the subchannel for anything, yet.

Here, WJW has been testing 8.2 with an SD simulcast of 8.1, but hasn't launched any programming on it. Massillon Cable is not carrying WJW 8.2 any more than they are already carrying 8.1, and that channel is probably blank right now.

If I had to guess, they are only listing systems that have made channel number placements for it. I'm pretty sure Antenna TV will land on TWC in the 300s, near the existing local subchannels, but they may not have an actual number yet.

Now for all of us who will have to watch on ivi.tv because the stations in our area are
too slow to get on board, any idea where ivi will have Antenna TV?

I see Retro TV has it's own channel (the sub in Seattle I think). Do you think they will
just give Antenna TV a similar spot OR list it as part of another station?

Seeing as Me-TV is probably the most popular channel on IVI, I can't see them ignoring
Antenna TV. I also hope IVI puts up the new WCIU 26 U-Too (when it starts up).

That's exactly what I was saying in my post. I think in some cases Antenna TV will be replacing current programming on already existing subchannels. So my guess is that in most cases the cable channel number on the Antenna TV website is the cable assignment for subchannels that are already carried by the cable company and will be switching to Antenna TV programming on 1/1. Since WPIX 11.4 doesn't even exist yet that is why there is no cable channel listed, becase obviously, no cable company carries it yet.

It's listed for Comcast 931 in Memphis. I wonder if they will list other towns in the areas of the primary station. I'd definitely like to know if it will be on Charter in Jackson, TN. They've been good about carrying subchannels from the Jackson area and WMC in Memphis.

I hadn't really thought about it before just now but they don't have a station for Nashville listed yet.  ???

I got an email back from FOX 61 in Hartford stating that Antenna TV would be on Channel 806 on COX. - Makes sense because COX has subchannels on 800-805 and 811. They also said tentively Channel 252 on COMCAST. That makes no sense. 252 on my Comcast line up is Hallmark Movie Channel HD. Doesn't make sense for the other Comcast system either. In neighboring Wolcott/Waterbury Channel 252 is one of the Encore Channels. Hmmm.

WJW/8.2 Cleveland is now running a continuous Antenna TV promo loop, as of this morning.

Are any other Antenna TV markets running this promo?

KTLA 5.2 in Los Angeles is playing a 10 minute loop.

Probably the same loop WJW 8.2 is playing. It's a network production, not a local one.

If your loop is briefly describing some of the shows that are coming with little "did you know fun facts" then yeah we're getting the same thing but KTLA's loop keeps stressing with pop up graphics and an animation of THIS-TV moving down to 5.3 mixed in. Also, the announcer sounds like the usual KTLA voiceover guy and not Gary Owens... yet.

It's on FiOS 465 (Menifee CA). The guide still shows This TV. I hope they keep 5.2 as I never liked This TV. Too many B movies.

Nope, we have a generic network promo loop, and yes, it is indeed Gary Owens in the brief voiceovers we hear between the promos.
