Antenna TV Meltdown

Antenna TV had a meltdown at 9:30PM Eastern. The second episode of News Radio began. Then after 3 minutes a commercial break. Then when they came back the previous segment began playing again. After a minute or 2 the screen went blank and an Antenna TV Please Stand By Slide Popped up. After a moment the second segment of the show began. At about 9:44 they abruptly went to a commercial break in mid-sentence. When they came back they started again with the first segment. Then once again the Antenna TV Please Stand By Slide came back on. After a moment the second segment began again. The final commercial break ended at 9:57PM. The show resumed with the second segment again. Just before 10PM it was abruptly cut off and an Antenna TV Married With Children is Next slide popped up into Married with Children.

Something totally messed up there. I watched Antenna TV from 7PM-9:30PM and there were no issues.

Sounds like they may have caught a bit of the RTV flu.

I must say that Me-TV and THIS-TV have the best presentations of all the subs. I can't
recall when I've witnessed a mistake by them.

I believe the above post is a running gag on the Connecticut radio board... ::)

I prefer to think it was just Karma, or somebody's way of celebrating the "anniversary":

October 2, 1995…The FCC eliminated the requirement that broadcast stations must have a licensed radio operator on duty during all periods of broadcast operation.

What station do you watch ATV on? It would be interesting to see if it was local or network

It was a network problem, not a problem at WTIC-TV. Several people from different parts of the country brought it up on Antenna TV's Facebook Page. Their response is that they're working with the engineering department to find out what happened.

It was definitly network. It was the first time I watched Antenna TV by appointment, and of course they have this happen. I've never seen it on ME-TV. But, I wonder if it's something wrong with the Sony library. I've streamed NewsRadio on Crackle before and had similar things happen.

That being said, chances are there are actually warm bodies manning ATV's master control -- if it was all-automated with no one there, this problem could have persisted for who knows how long, until someone walks in to the MC.
