ANTENNA TV ONLY UP IN HALF THEIR MARKETS

They have now put start up dates on their website and only about half of their
affiliates are up and going. Some are starting as late as March and others are TBA.

Many were under the impression that all stations were going to be ready to go on
Jan. 1st. They should have posted the information a lot sooner than they did. Seems
like they may have been trying to make their start up sound a lot bigger than it
actually was.

It looks like the Antenna is still on the ground and hasn't quite made it to the roof yet!

I have no knowledge of the status in each of those cities, but the way I read that affiliate chart looked as though they were on over the air. However, the cable companies were slow to add the channels to their systems.

That's the way I read it. If I'm wrong somebody please tell me.

Mike

and what about San Francisco? it seems like there is going to be no Classic Tv channel here at all

MICHIGAN:
WZMQ (Marquette) has switched channel 19.2 to Antenna TV, dropping a mix of reruns and My Network TV. The MNT primetime lineup that had aired from 8-10 p.m. on 19.2 now airs on 19.1, which continues to carry ThisTV at other times. The move means DirecTV and DISH Network customers can no longer see the MNT lineup since only 19.2 is carried for WZMQ's satellite feed. 19.1 is seen on analog cable, while 19.2 is on digital cable.

Antenna TV also airs on WITI/6.2 (Milwaukee) and is slated to be added on WHO-DT/13.3 (Des Moines) later this month. (1/9/2010)

4.2 eithetr next month or March.

Are there really any stations that Antenna TV has "control" over that they would be the ones to update their website daily and be beholden to a certain day of starting?
Isn't it up to the individual stations when they put them on as affiliates?

Hardly. It has launched in many markets.. I believe most of the top 10. I think it's on all the Tribune stations that it was signed up for. That's a pretty significant launch for a channel like this.

It's not on in NYC. I think the start up dates listed on www.antennatv.tv are very new.

Again, they seemed to advertise on their website (by not having start up dates) that those cities would be on Jan. 1st, but now that's not the case. They should have put up their TBAs earlier, if nothing else as a service
to viewers.

Yes, cable was often later than the stations and that confused many who thought they would be in sync.

Yes it is on in NYC. It has been on WPIX 11.4 since Jan. 1. I have been watching.

Heh.

The list seems definitely divided into broadcast and cable, and those "TBAs" on the right are referring to cable channels.

On the broadcast side, KTVI/2.2 St. Louis is listed as coming in "early March", as is WDAF/4.2 Kansas City and KFOR/4.2 Oklahoma City. Richmond VA, Des Moines and Davenport/Moline are also listed with future broadcast launches.

I think columns 2 and 3 were combined when I made the original post........but maybe not.
I clearly remember seeing under WPIX late January. Thanks poster police.

Happy New Year, everyone. I apologize, but WDAF-TV has not set up Antenna TV on its subchannel yet, as other Local TV LLC and Tribune stations did this weekend. I don't know when we are putting Antenna on the air, but it appears we're waiting until February or March.

it's not on here in the St. Louis market... according to the tv critic in the paper... they're saying that its not supposed to sign on til March!

Thanks, Trip...it looks like so far, only four of the Antenna TV affiliates are not Tribune or Local TV owned, including the three smallest markets.

The largest market with a non-Tribune/Local TV O&O is Fresno (Cocola's KGMC/43).

Know if Scripps could come out and say why they don't want to add RTV to KHSB yet that would be good. I would hope one of other Digital Sub Channels would hook up with Mederdith or hearst just so we could get another one here in KC area.
